This is so true, Dani. 🤍 My word documents look like a CRIME SCENE while I’m writing 😂. I always leave so many Author Notes for myself later, like: “Find a better word.” |“Think of a better comeback” | “Make this make sense later.” | “Tie this to X or Y event coming up in book 3” It’s truly a discovery process when you’re drafting. I used to want to do things perfectly to save work later, but I’ve discovered I end up editing till insanity, anyway… so might as well have fun with unapologetic, uninterupted drafting, and then putting on my editor hat later. It’s like someone once said “Write drunk. Edit sober.”
