How do you stop paying the ADHD tax?
I recently came across the term "ADHD tax," and it explained so much of my life. For me, it isn't impulse shopping. It's all the little things that slowly add up: - Forgetting to cancel free trials. - Paying for subscriptions I haven't used in months. - Missing bill due dates even though I had the money. - Buying things I already own because I forgot they existed. - Finding groceries after they've already gone bad. None of these seem like a big deal individually, but over a year I feel like I've lost hundreds of dollars to stuff that could've been avoided if my brain just... remembered. I've started trying a few things like calendar reminders and keeping notes, but after a while I end up ignoring them or forgetting I even made them. So I'm curious: How do you deal with the ADHD tax? Do you have any systems, apps, routines, or habits that have actually worked long-term? I'd love to hear what's genuinely helped other people because I'm still trying to figure out a system that sticks.
