I’m learning salsa and Latin jazz piano and am developing a salsa tune in a Chick Corea styled arrangement for violin and piano. I’m working on comping chord voicings and melody for both instruments as a basis for improvisation. Having too much fun!

I’m a jazz pianist and can easily improvise on the piano. Fiddle improvisation is very different than piano. I would like to better understand how to use higher positions, bowing, ornaments and rhythms on a fiddle to achieve a solo with a specific style (for example-old smooth standards and ballads, or bluesy, or swinging)
