Big C you're a legend, great stuff as always brother... Ima be super picky here so feel free to take everything w a grain of salt! Def understand the "dated" sound but think it also sounds a bit modern as well. Big thing for me is the mix. I think it has an old school mix to it which is prob why it has that "dated" sound. The best thing i've learned for mixing is cutting all your synths at 7khz at a 12db slope, so white noise, cymbals, and drums can cut thru a bit more. Feel free to try this, it will give everything a much more smoother/airy sound while still getting that crunch. The crunch is in the 400-800hz range, so above that you don't want as much going on. Your saws are a bit bright around the the 2k-3khz range so I'd soften those up by dipping them down by 2-3db or so. Once again this I think will help with that modern mix sound you want!! Was the vocal originally recorded at a different tempo? It almost seems like the vocal has some warping artifacts. Not that it's an issue, just smth I noticed. Think you could also push the vocal a little more up front in the mix. Just bump the volume up a db or so and you're chillin'. Think that vocal could also use some body around the 500hz range? The mid-highs are perfect, just want a little more oomph if that makes sense. You made a banger bro, this is good shit. Vocal is top notch, drop is mad catchy, and really dig the arrangement. @Charlie Wonder Gotchu!!! I didn't throw it into ableton or anything I def was guessing on EQ ranges a bit but just from doing it enough I'd say those are the ranges where I run into issues the most. Obv just take a look at it on an EQ and see what your sounds are saying 🙏 Btw finish that one up w h4rris soon. That's my guy from college haha

This is clean man!! I really dig it, good vibes here... Some background synths in the verse would be super nice. Some arps or smth to add some movement to keep things pushing forward. I love doing this cause you can have a ton of fun adding in ear candy and those little bits of magic. I'd love to hear some more sub in the drop personally, think it will help with the fullness of everything going on. Some basic thoughts but think it'll really help add some sparks to your record.
