6 contributions to The Thriving Artist Community
Welcome! Start Here
Hi friends! Welcome to my Thriving Artist Community. What is this all about? Simply put, a Thriving artist is the opposite of a starving artist. But... not just because of finances which are only 1/6 of what I consider to be the "whole" of success. The core of this group will focus on the 6 F's of success. Faith, Family, Finances, Fitness, Future-Focus, and Fun. If one of these areas doesn't get watered, we become "starved". So in time, I will build out the classroom to have complete courses, ideas, and resources on how I have developed all of these areas. I am excited to have you be part of it and look forward to hearing what you get from this group. For now, simply say "hi" below. And answer this one question... Which of the 6 areas do you feel you need to develop the most? And why? (Comment below)

@Rebecca Banman Thanks for sharing. Fitness basically comes down to 2 things... diet and or exercise. Which of the two is the biggest challenge for you? I'd love to see if I can help. :)

@Rebecca Banman missed this! Diet is the hardest as well. The best way to make a change is tonight avoid but just get one percent better each day. If you average two glasses of milk per day, and five slices of bread, maybe you eventually want to get it to 4 ounces of milk and one slice of bread. But going from an old habit to a new have it overnight won't stick. You have enough willpower to do it for a day or two after you beat yourself up enough and then you realize it doesn't work can you go right back to old habits. Instead, you need to make the change so gradual that by the time you got to your goal, it just feels like more of the same. In this example, you would simply take off 1 ounce less. So drink at 8 ounce glass of milk and a 7 ounce glass of milk instead of eight and eight. Eat 4 1/2 slices of bread instead of five. Do this for a week and get used to it. The changes so gradual you don't even realize you made it then you go to an 8 ounce glass and a 6 ounce glass with four slices of bread. Rinse and repeat this gradual removal process over 3 to 4 months and you'll be down to just a few ounces of milk and one slice of bread. I'm getting theoretical numbers cause of course I don't know exactly where you're at or what your goal is. Even though this is the most discouraging, because we want change right away, we have to be honest with ourselves that we already have one of this for a long time. Probably a lot longer than four months. So if we just commit to an atomic habit over a long period of time we're gonna get the change we want anyway and it will actually stick. Hope that helps. Currently I'm doing the same thing going to lose 16 pounds over four months. Well, I could probably do it in six weeks that would be so aggressive that my body wouldn't like the shock and we go back to old habits. If I take four months to do it, that's only 4 pounds a month, which is barely a pound a week. I don't have to be in that much of a deficit at all to hit that so it's theoretically something I could sustain.
Curious
Dear Aaron, Am I missing something? I haven't seen any new posts in this community for a few days now. Cheering for you!! Rebecca

Hi Rebecca. Honestly... I started this group, kind of randomly on a whim without giving it much thought. And then immediately after inviting people I started second-guessing, if I really had anything to offer, that would be a value. I wonder if it's best if I just stick to my own lane and Piano teaching. Yeah, what's funny is with my private students it turns into a life coaching session one out of three times because we're really not able to separate the musician from the rest of the being. So I do know I have a lot to offer, but most of what I say so contextual to what comes up. It's hard to just give principles or ideas that will be valuable out of context. That said, I definitely want to do a lot with this group in the future it's just slow going to get started. And on top of that I'm in the middle of six projects right now. I'm making it my goal to finish at least three of them before coming back to anything else I've started. Otherwise I could spread too thin. Stay tuned we'll do something with this before long!
Do it
Get up. Do the hard thing. Eat the frog. Stop being lazy. What is one small step you can do today? To start building towards a bigger and better habit, dream, goal.

@Alexy Roussel Great point! Yes, we become what we believe - whether it's rational or not! What belief are you "faking" currently?

@Alexy Roussel Define success specifically. What does it look like for you in detail? (Even if 10 years out) Then you can work backward and see yourself as that person now. What ever is not there, can be the start of a new habit.
Group goal
I have spent many years struggling to figure out how to leverage my gift, enjoy it more, and make an impact on people, without selling my time and sleeping for only 4 hours per night. This group is all about learning new tips to thrive as a musician. Musically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially. Enjoy the journey. This is my behind the scenes. Introduce yourself below. :)

Progress Log / Group Organization
This group is meant to help you succeed in business, life, spiritual growth etc. So the purpose of this post is to show you what I am adding into the group each day - so you can filter what you do and don't need. I am committing to adding something to this group bigger or small for at least 100 days in a row. Starting today. Each day modifications and additions will be listed here as well. 6-24-25 Classroom updated with some book recommendations and some fitness updates. I will not be walking my weight journey and workout progress for public accountability. 6-25-25 Added one of the single most profitable frameworks I have ever used to make money. The "Sell Like Crazy" system. It WORKS EVERYTIME. (If you have an audience) 6-26-25 More fitness updates as well as some piano teacher first steps to make 6-27-25 (Forgot to log) 6-28-25 Added in some things to the "family" section about our society. Added some things to Faith and Future Focus including a motivation training.
