We eat a lot of venison. Between the wife and I, we can usually put at least one in the freezer in NH. Then my dad helps us from Virginia. We eat very little beef. We will be raising our own meat and egg chickens when we get to Tennessee. Venison and Chicken will be our protein.

Nice! I built one the same way a number of years ago.

@Grant Richardson LOL-I never saw anything to shoot. I know that thing was some cold to hold during the later season. It had an aluminum riser. I wouldn’t have cared about the ribs either!

@Grant Richardson that’s awesome! Great story! Thanks for sharing. I remember those days. I hunted with my uncle in the mid 80’s. I remember he set me in a plywood stand about 15’ up. He took a pc of nylon rope and made two loops in it about a foot long. Told me to fish my belt thru it and attach it to a strap that was hooked to the tree. Every “stand” he had had no seats. I stood there for 3-4 hours. Those were some long evenings.

Got my fifty arrows in after work today. Feeling really good about the time of my current setup. This time last year I injured myself on this setup, and couldnt do 10 quality shots in a row. Couldn't keep lethal effectiveness past 10 yards with it because of the pain in my shoulders and fingers. Today, im capable of 6 out of ten heart shots at 28 yards 💪
