Are You Actually Busy… Or Just Very Good at Avoiding Things? 😂 Come And Meet Lisa Adams.
Oh, this was a cracking conversation, and I have a feeling a few of you are going to recognise yourselves in it. I certainly did! I finally managed to sit down with Lisa Adams from The Regulated Leader for one of our Skool Events Daily interviews. We've been trying to arrange this chat for ages, so it was lovely to finally get together. Now, here's something that really caught my attention. Have you ever known EXACTLY what you need to do to move your business forward, known it would help you, perhaps even paid good money to learn how to do it… and then proceeded to do absolutely everything EXCEPT that? Oh, I know that one rather well! 😂 Lisa explained how some of the things we put down to procrastination, overthinking or a lack of discipline can actually be connected to how our nervous system responds when something feels uncomfortable or threatening. And this is where it gets interesting. You might desperately want to grow your business, become more visible, start making videos or put yourself out there. But if being seen has felt unsafe to you in the past, your body may be putting up a rather determined fight against your plans. So instead of doing that video, you suddenly find yourself scrolling through Facebook, rearranging your desk or deciding that NOW would be an excellent time to learn something else! Sound familiar? 😁 What I particularly liked about Lisa's approach is that she's not suggesting we all need another enormous programme of work to add to our already overflowing plates. Quite the opposite. Her free 90-minute workshops are designed to help people recognise a pattern that's holding them back and walk away with one small, practical tool they can actually use. Not another notebook full of wonderful ideas that ends up gathering dust on the shelf. And believe me, I've got a few of those! Lisa also shared a lovely example of a client in his 50s who had always considered himself shy. His goal was to make just ONE YouTube video during their eight weeks together.

@Heather Di Rocco good idea
𝗢𝗶! 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗙𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗼𝗯? 💰😂
Now, I know I've been nagging you all about posting your events, using the new website and generally making yourselves visible to the world. But there's something else you could be doing, and I have a sneaky suspicion some of you have completely forgotten about it! 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗠𝗘! 😁 Yes, you can actually earn money by telling people about Skool Events Daily. Fancy that! For every person you refer who joins VIP at $12 a month, you get 𝟯𝟬% — 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗨𝗦$𝟯.𝟲𝟬 𝗮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵. Get 5 people signed up and that's $18 a month. Get 10 and you're looking at $36 a month. Now, I know it's not exactly a massive pot of earnings, but every little bit counts, doesn't it? And if we're offering you the opportunity to earn a bit of money, why wouldn't you snap our hands off? 😂 Besides, let's face it, 𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗻𝗼-𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿! We're offering a ridiculously useful service at a ridiculously low price, so it's hardly going to take an Olympic-level sales pitch to get people interested. And most of you have already grabbed our VIP offer yourselves, so you clearly saw the value in it! 😁 Now, I'm not suggesting you go charging around Skool like a woman possessed, shoving your referral link under everyone's nose. 😂 But come on, how many coaches, community owners and event hosts do you know who could do with a bit more visibility? You're already here. You know what we're doing. And now we've got our shiny new website taking events beyond Skool and out into the big wide world. So why not spread the word and earn a few bob while you're at it? 𝗚𝗼 𝗼𝗻, 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘂𝗽! 𝗪𝗵𝗼'𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆? 𝗢𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝘀𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯? 😂

Good reminder.
🔥 𝗛𝗢𝗧 𝗧𝗜𝗣 — 𝗪𝗢𝗨𝗟𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗚𝗢 𝗧𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗢𝗪𝗡 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧?
There’s a question for you. 😂 Go and have another look at the last post you wrote about your event, but this time try looking at it as someone who knows absolutely nothing about you or what you do. Would it make you stop and have a read, or would your thumb just carry on scrolling? Sometimes we get so close to what we’re creating that we forget everybody else doesn’t automatically know why they should be interested. So tell them! Give them a reason to want to be there, let them know what they’ll get from it and, most importantly, let a bit of 𝘆𝗼𝘂 come through in the post. Now go and look at yours. 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗴𝗼? 👀

@Heather Wilson which is not the case. It's really difficult though to look through the eyes of potential customers.

You Asked So I'm Delivering! ☕️
Well, I did ask you what you'd like us to talk about at our next Coffee, Chat & Collab, and you voted for 𝗚𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗨𝗽! Clearly, a few of us have experienced the joy of people registering for an event and then disappearing off the face of the earth when it's time to turn up! 😂 So that's what we're going to get our teeth into. I've got a few ideas up my sleeve, but I also want to hear yours. What's worked for you? What hasn't? And what could we all be doing differently to make sure people actually show up? Come and pick my brain, share a bit of your own wisdom, and let's see if we can all walk away with a better plan for our next event. Because we can spend all the time in the world promoting our events, but if nobody turns up, we're rather missing the point, aren't we? ☕ 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲, 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁 & 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯 🇺🇸 New York — Tuesday 13 October, 8 PM 🇳🇿 New Zealand — Wednesday 14 October, 1 PM https://www.skool.com/skoolevents/calendar?eid=796be67a1d9a41bda6e335c25a5a0405 So, who's coming along? And more importantly, 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽? 😂

Where The Bloody Hell Is Everyone? 😂
You Can Lead People to an Event… But Can You Make the Buggers Turn Up? 😂 Well, that was the big question at today's Coffee, Chat & Collab! And rather amusingly, several people who voted to discuss getting people to show up didn't actually show up themselves. Oh, the irony! 🤣 We had a cracking conversation, though, with some very useful experiences shared. Chris apparently thinks 3 AM is a perfectly reasonable time to get up for an event but in fairness he is showing up for when his audience is around so he is showing up so his audience shows up. I can assure you, it isn't happening in my house 🫣 because me and 3am dont get along 😂 Chef Andrew shared how simply asking his community which times suited them made a difference to attendance. He also reminded us that an event with nobody watching isn't necessarily wasted. Record it, repurpose it and make something useful out of it. Great advice. Angela shared the frustration of promoting a free workshop everywhere, only to have one person turn up. Something I suspect quite a few event hosts can relate to! But she left feeling encouraged that despite that she is on the right track and to carry on because it does happen. And Rena talked about using scheduling tools to keep event promotion going without having to remember every single post. We also got into some of my favourite subjects: posting and ghosting, building genuine relationships, following up with interested people and actually giving your audience a reason to come. Because putting up one event post and hoping the entire population of Skool will suddenly appear is rather optimistic, don't you think? 😁 Then Chef Andrew introduced us to the wonderful idea of adding a little whimsy to what we do. He's talking about food, of course, but it applies beautifully to events. A bit of personality, something unexpected, a little humour. Stop making everything so terribly serious! We also talked about collaborations, featuring other community members, using short videos and why making friends across communities can be far more valuable than endlessly shouting about your next event.
