You can always practice more of new habits and less of old one's
While watching an Andrew Huberman video with Diary of a CEO the two go into talking about neuroplasticity. Andrew says that the phrase "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" scientifically doesn't hold up, so in other words its a myth. He goes on to say that we have neuroplasticity available to us for our entire lifetime which means we keep learning new things as long as we are present, attentive, and focused on learning it. I used to think we had to change out habits in cold turkey style but I learned that the way our brain works, just doing a little more of the habit you want to do more of and a little bit less of the habit you want to do less of can build the connections in your brain so this becomes the new normal. How fascinating!
