I am a freshman college student. I created the original IP project The Time Collector of the Yellow River on my own. This project focuses on the intangible cultural heritage along the Yellow River in Gansu. I am committed to spreading traditional Chinese intangible cultural heritage to young people and letting more excellent Chinese culture go global. I sincerely hope that people all over the world can fully understand the long history and unique charm of Chinese intangible cultural heritage. My original novel and IP story are set along the Yellow River and the ancient Silk Road in Gansu. The whole story follows a young wanderer who travels across Gansu to explore the hidden history, folk tales and the artistic soul behind local intangible cultural heritage. First, I want to tell you a vivid historical story about Lanzhou carved gourds. As far back as the Qing Dynasty, ordinary people in Lanzhou loved planting delicate small gourds in their courtyards. At first, they just grew them for ornamental enjoyment. Gradually, ingenious folk craftsmen began to carve exquisite landscapes, flowers, birds, ancient poems, vivid figures and folk scenes on the hard and smooth surface of gourds with tiny professional carving knives. Every pattern is carved purely by hand, with fine and smooth lines and vivid images, without any machine assistance. Over time, Lanzhou carved gourds became a precious folk craft treasure, deeply loved by literati, scholars and Silk Road travelers. It carries the exquisite craftsmanship and elegant artistic taste of Chinese folk artisans, and is a wonderful testimony to the wisdom of the Chinese nation. Gansu shadow puppetry is an ancient folk performing art with a history of more than 2,000 years. Craftsmen carefully cut cowhide or donkey hide into lifelike puppet figures, and dye them with bright and lasting traditional Chinese pigments. Performers control the puppets behind a white curtain, with the mapping of light, telling moving historical allusions, folk myths, romantic love stories and local Silk Road legends. For thousands of years, shadow puppetry has been a beloved cultural entertainment for Chinese people. It is not only a form of artistic performance, but also a carrier of inheriting Chinese history and folk culture, recording the memories and emotions of generations of Chinese people.
