IDG Transition Forum 6
Yesterday I took part in the ongoing transition dialogues that have been taking place for the past 4 months, each call runs for 2hrs. For background context, the Transition forums are spaces for listening, sensing, and learning together, rather than for presenting, promoting, or teaching. I was asked to speak about our community as a spin off that has taken it's own shape and form. I spoke for 5minutes on the origin of the community so that those present could "begin to explore what it means to move from volunteer energy into something more sustained and lived in practice." I share the image as it summarizes what has been seen and said so far. ID@Work is mirroring the system as we are made up of people who actually live the IDGs with belonging as an operating principle. Thank you to @Victoria Triep for your support and to the people who have now stepped into this space after learning about us, welcome!

@Veronique Sikora Gasser thanks for sharing your sadness. To me it showed up as 'disillusionment' or maybe disappointment. At the same time I think it belongs to this shift of paradigm. Erik said it himself, it was built on the old 'top down' foundation and therefore couldn't be sustained. Of course we're in the transition phase and that's not comfortable, and maybe combined with sadness, frustration etc.
Listening to What is Changing
Hello everyone, The topic of spirituality and inner development inspired me to share something I'm preparing. I am hosting a small 60-minute workshop called Listening to What Is Changing and wanted to share it with this community. It’s for people who sense that something in their life is shifting—even if they can’t quite name what—and want space to pause and listen for what might be emerging. It feels like a particular moment right now, where personal transitions and broader collective shifts are sitting closer together—and worth making space to explore. Monday, April 13 · 11:00–12:00 PM PT Zoom Register here: https://goldenthreadcoach.com/events This is an edge for me, offering work that feels more spiritually aligned. I’m very much in the shaping phase of this, and I would genuinely value any honest feedback—what resonates, what doesn’t, and what could be clearer. I have a few spots remaining and would love to welcome some of you there! Warmly, Julie

I would have loved to attend, but it's too late for me. But I'd like to invite you to report back here what you learned from stepping into your courage and bringing a more spiritual touch to your work, @Julie Gefroh ! I'm planning to make 'courage' the topic for the April 28th Skillbuilder
Connecting to nature in April
I wanted to share this wonderful calendar with nature connection ideas that I saw on LinkedIn, shared by @Denise Pang and created by Julia Tew I just sat outside for 2 hours, listening to the birds. I think that's my favorite spring nature connection. What's yours?

Decolonizing the IDGs - added the replays in the Classroom
Dear community we wanted to let you know that we've created a Classroom with the recordings from the 'Decolonising the IDGs' sessions with @Rukmini Iyer earlier this year. In case you missed them, maybe the Holidays are a good time to catch up on the recordings. Just go here. Please engage in the comments if/when you watch them.

Here's what happened in today's Skillbuilder about this topic (copy from our LinkedIn Newsletter) : In today's Skillbuilder session we explored a topic that is showing up more and more — even if we don’t always name it directly: spirituality. I opened with this question: What role does spirituality play for you — and do you see it reflected in the IDG skills, or is something missing? How spirituality shows up What followed was a nuanced and honest exploration. For some, spirituality showed up as presence — the ability to be here, grounded, aware. For others, it was about connection — to purpose, to others, to something larger than the individual self. One participant described it as “moral curiosity” — a continuous inquiry into what truly matters and how we align our actions with that. Is something missing in the IDG framework? We explored the idea that spirituality might live within the existing dimensions. In Being — through self-awareness, presence, and inner compass. In Relating — through connectedness and compassion. In Collaborating - through partnering with something bigger than ourselves. Not as a separate category, but as a quality that deepens how these skills are experienced and expressed. Almost “undercover.” Does spirituality belong at work? The second question brought us into more practical territory. Does spirituality belong at work? Here, the answers were less about yes or no — and more about how. One example shared was introducing small moments of silence or reflection in a classroom setting. Initially uncomfortable. But over time, appreciated. Not because it was labeled as “spiritual” — but because it created space. What it looks like in practice And that seemed to be a key insight: Spirituality in professional spaces doesn’t need to be explicit. It needs to be accessible. It can come through: creating moments of pause in busy environments supporting reflection, not just action inviting people to connect to purpose and meaning holding space for deeper conversations when they arise
