Welcome Amal! 🌸 May you have a good learning here ameen
Small win, but it means a lot I just crossed my first $1,000 on Upwork. 🎉
I know $1k isn't a huge number to some, but for me it's proof that slow, boring consistency actually works. It wasn't a straight line. At one point my Job Success Score dropped to 69% and I genuinely thought about quitting. I just kept showing up delivering clean work, communicating clearly, and treating every small project like it mattered. The score is back to 100% now, and most of my recent clients have either come back for more work or reached out to me directly. 3 things that actually moved the needle: 1. Over-communicate. Clients don't just buy code they buy a calm, clear process. 2. Treat the $100 job like a $1,000 one. The reviews from small jobs are what win you the big ones. 3. Don't let a bad week define you. Setbacks are recoverable if you keep delivering. Grateful for this community a lot of the mindset shifts came from lurking and learning here. Onward to the next milestone. 🚀 For those ahead of me: what was the one change that took you from your first $1k to your first $10k? @Haroon Khalil @Umair Bajwa https://www.upwork.com/freelancers/~01ac9dfd5b35dc7b35

21 june 2026 Sunday Today was pretty much same as yesterday, except that I wasted some time today 4:00am: I woke up 4:00 am: I prayed Fajr, recited quran and azkar. 5:40 am: Started studying (not related to freelancing). 7:20am: Prepared and ate breakfast and did some home chores 9:30am: Started studying again 12:30am: took a break 1:00pm: went back to studies. 2:00pm: lunch and prayer break 3:00pm: I started reading the book The Stranger by Alburt camus. Only read for 20 minutes Then, decluttered two folders 4pm: started another study session 6pm: prayer break 6:30pm: sat back to study, studied for roughly an hour and then couldn't study more, my brain felt shut 8:30pm: had dinner Then I found out that I had lost something and wasted time to find it, I found it by the way 11:00pm: I finally slept. Tomorrow I'll touch freelancing again, even it is for one hour only.

20 june 2026 Saturday 4:00am: I woke up 4:00 to 5:30: I prayed Fajr, recited quran and azkar. 5:30 to 7am: I slept again 7:20am: Prepared and ate breakfast and did some home chores 9:00am: Started studying (not related to freelancing). My exams are near, maybe after one month or 1.5 Months. Despite my efforts to not lose my focus from freelancing, my major focus is my exam prep these days, and it's quite unavoidable. So, I had multiple sessions of studies with multiple breaks. I lost the track of time. 10:00pm: I stopped studying 11:30pm: I slept I prayed all prayers. I had my meals on time. My memorization speed was slow today, I should improve it.
