Last fall in Carey's previous group, we connected with nature/plant spirits. I connected with the Catawba tree in my front yard. He shared his name and had a few comments and requests. One one of the requests was to have my kids build a fairy garden at the bottom of his trunk. Last weekend, my daughter and I stopped at a local garden store and got a door and path and my husband found a fairy garden kit for each kid, too. Today, we hung the door, cleared a little space, added sand and mulch and the little path. The kids build their fairy garden boxes. My daughter put hers next to the door and path. My son put his under the silver maple in the middle of our yard. It was a fun afternoon and my daughter is especially excited to see if any fairies come to live on our tree.

This is the day I always feel most connected to my inner knowing, and I love using that energy inside The Sanctuary to check in with what we are all picking up. I decided to give this a try and pull one tarot card from the Waite Smith deck and one from Enchanted Map (Colette BaronReid). I started shuffling and I asked what do I need to know today? I have been wondering about my job choices, whether to keep what I’m doing now (it’s not working), whether I will know if an opportunity is the right for me (change careers, focus, etc). So I guess all these things were in the back of my mind). While shuffling a group of 8 cards fell at once as a pack from the middle of the deck: The Hierophant, High Priestess, 6 of cups reversed, 7 of cups reversed, 8 of swords, queen of pentacles reversed, the lovers, and the 10 of pentacles. I have to say I am a novice at reading cards, and I have an idea of the meaning but I would love if anyone has a different take. I saw this as related to my job conundrum. Being a Capricorn makes this a very pivotal issue in my life. Here goes: I think the Hierophant represents my past careers choices, traditional, social approval, conformity but things need to change (energy of the unexpected). Wisdom, forgiveness, trust are what I should apply to my current self. The high priestess is about intuition, the subconscious, trusting yourself and beginning of new projects which I take as a very positive card, trusting myself and my intuition to know what’s the right path.. 6 of cups reversed tells me to stop living in the past, forgive myself and add some lightness to my life, don’t take everything so seriously, while the 7 of cups reversed tells me to align with my values, too many choices means lack of purpose and confusion. The 8 of swords tells me the anxiety is of my own making, only seeing obstacles and instead look around and find my path.the queen of pentacles reversed says I’m too worried about financial independence, work-home balance, and being obsessive about this whole issue. The lovers ask to have balance, home and responsibility and my values will be aligned with the choice I make. And finally, the 10 of cups says ultimate completion (financial security, family, contribution to community, wealth) is the result of true will, realization and endings.
