What kind of effing community is this anywayβ‰οΈπŸ˜πŸ–•β€οΈ
When you think of community - what comes to mind? Does the image of a bunch of people circled around some leader who is pontificating constantlyπŸ™„β‰οΈπŸ˜ Or do images of potlucks, and sleepovers, and friends visiting and playing music together come to mind? This community is meant to be the latter...... Get to know each other!! Here's your challenge: make a simple comment below and tag three people that you've either spoken with or have seen in the threads. Then see where things go from there. You can't tag me...... HA!

@Michelle Aurets it’s been interesting for sure, at this moment I am chaperoning a date for a teenager.

@Michelle Aurets it’s pretty chill, lol I don’t think I’m the one it makes feel awkward. Originally my friend wanted me to take their daughter to this date cause of a scheduling conflict. I wasn’t aware I would be a chaperone until today, so here I am on my phone being invisible but present. πŸ˜‚
Interoception
Thoughts about Interoception... Somatics is the ability to notice the sensations that arise in our body. Every moment of every day we are responding to these sensations, but the process is unconscious. The ability to feel these internal sensations is called *Interoception*. It is an important skill because when we become aware of the sensations beneath our skin and within our viscera, we actually return to the original language of our childhood. For most of our most formative years, our emotions and responses to them are scripted... neurologically imprinted. We carry our childhood scripting into our adult bodies. These scripts determine the structure of our personalities and define our interactions with others... those we care about, those we don't, and everyone in between. As children this scripting occurs through the sensations within the body. In early childhood, because we are not yet addicted to framing the world through language, we experience emotions as sensations. So, the childhood language of emotions is sensation. (It is also the language of emotion for adults, but it remains largely unconscious.) When we interocept, we bring the original scripting of our emotional body into conscious awareness... we return to our original childhood language. From this reclamation, we can more clearly discern our patterns and unpack how we are scripted. Only when we can clearly experience how we are projecting from our old scripts can we sidestep our biases and blind spots to understand our social and romantic interactions more clearly. Your thoughts?

I'm new here and I admit I'm not sure I understand the bulk of what you're talking about @David Bruce Leonard but, when we're talking about emotional scripting being neurologically imprinted it made me think of how my dad always screamed and shouted when he was angry during my childhood and I had to change that very same behavior in myself as a young adult. am I in the ballpark on what you're talking about?

🌈 Do you find it difficult to explain to people what you do? 🀩 One of the beauties of getting on this platform is that I'm having to synthesize what I do into something that people can understand, and put it in a very small space. πŸ¦β€πŸ”₯ Talk about a challenge. ‼️Do you find it challenging to explain your work to peopleβ‰οΈπŸ–•

@James Humecky right, you were the first person I interacted with in Skool when I join the other day. I believe I asked what you meant by "high functioning" in the description of your group and then after some conversation, I summed it up as "You help workaholics learn to loosen up." to which you more or less agreed. I know that summary probably removes some of the flavor and theme of what you're overall doing but it is a clear offer that someone totally unfamiliar with what you do can grab onto. The clear offer is very important because it's the top of your business funnel that people interested in the nuance can follow down. A clear offer is something I myself am actively working on before I even start a Skool group.
