While knitting with yarn is now seen stereotypically (and unfairly) as “women’s work,” it was initially a male-only occupation! In 1527, the first knitting union was established in Paris, France — and no women were allowed to join. After the knitting machine was invented in the late 1500s, knitting by hand became a useful hobby, rather than a necessity. Since it transformed into a leisurely craft, this may explain why it was no longer considered a male task.

Hey everyone, I wanted to pop in and be honest with you… I know I haven’t been around as much the last little bit, and I’m sorry for that. Life has been full in the best (and slightly chaotic) way. I’ve been: • Working on some new designs (I can’t wait to show you!) • Getting ready for a craft show tomorrow • Helping with a special workshop at church • Hosting the speaker with my husband • And getting everything ready for our trip next week We’re heading to a conference and then spending some really special time with our daughter… including her baby shower for her first child. 🥰 So over the next little while, I’ll be a bit quieter—but not gone. I will pop in here and there because… let’s be honest… I love this community too much to stay away completely. In the meantime, you are in very good hands. My Eagle Family is finished!

Hey everyone! I’m taking a quick break from the crank to show off my latest obsession. I’ve been using my Addi to whip up these "little flowers" and honestly, it is so fun and easy! Last year, I went the traditional route with real flowers for Mother’sDay, but they didn’t last long. This year I’m going for "forever" status! My plan is to knit cozy covers for mason jars pop these beauties on some stems, and tuck them inside. No water required! 🌿 I’m working on a green theme, a purple inspired one, and a pink one. 💖💜💚 I’ve got just 20 more to go before the big day! ⏳ Who else is cranking out some handmade love for Mother’s Day?
