MINT CONDITION
My latest passion project I made together with a 1940's style boutique hotel. Open to constructive critizism, let me know what you think!

Also, @Eric Young Maybe also consider investing in using more over the shoulder shots ( I’m yet to do one so maybe I’m preaching what I don’t practice lol šŸ˜…). And given you wanted it to be a 1940s style boutique, maybe you could’ve tired this in black and white to give it that old noir feel. The soundtrack/score and type of dialogue used told me you were going for an old Hollywood feel (I could be wrong). If so, for this kind of subject matter (old Hollywood like mystery), maybe try black and white to give a noir feeling.

@Eric Young only a pleasure šŸ™‚ I think OTS shots would be great for when you wanna depict scenes between two characters taking like above. Maybe also if you wanted to have your detective character and the baby murderess stand off against each other (not necessarily with a gun but like a verbal one) maybe consider framing the shot via a two-shot where it’s both of you facing off each other, to really give that Mexican standoff feel

Videography course: Composition
Hey guys, I'm dropping the 3rd episode in my course, turning an influencer into a videographer. I'm not spending lots of time editing and color rendering, it's more educational. Enjoy!

And also @Eric Young , though I personally know them, in the previous lesson about camera movement and framing, don’t you perhaps wanna share your way of explaining camera framing techniques such as single shots, two shots, crowd shots, over the shoulder shots, three shots etc?

Also @Eric Young perhaps share the connection between the different composition techniques and how to find composition via like texture, and putting a small object next to a large one, and putting colour in a frame with muted colours?

Videomaking Roadmap - Part 2
Today’s theme: Start now. No excuses. Whether it’s an iPhone or a cinema camera—the tool isn’t the barrier. šŸ’” 1. The Director’s Mindset Inspired by voices like Quentin Tarantino and David Fincher, we focused on action over perfection. Technical overwhelm often leads to procrastination—clarity comes through doing. šŸ“ø 2. Mastering the Basics (Exposure & Control) We simplified manual control: - Aperture → depth of field - Shutter Speed → motion & flicker control - ISO → avoid noisy footage - White Balance → control warmth and mood The goal: move beyond Auto Mode and take creative ownership. šŸ“ 3. Composition Using student gym footage, we covered: - Rule of Thirds for stronger framing - Cleaning the frame (remove distractions) - Switching perspectives: close-ups for emotion, wide shots for context šŸ› ļø 4. Tools - Final Cut Camera app for manual control on iPhone - Gimbal modes (Follow, Tilt Lock, FPV) for intentional movement šŸš€ Action Step - Film one scene twice: Close-Up + Wide Shot - Record a short ā€œCommitmentā€ voiceover Next session: Less theory. More results. Editing begins.
