@Sharon Prahl good on you. Most people stick to a miserable job in the name of stability.

@Rodney Thompson Outdoor Skills 12 years old is really young. How’d you get away with that?
🏆 Win Wednesday: Ear Training Hack 🎧
I found an online ear-training game called Key Seeker 64 that helps you find the key of a song. Find it here: https://sonofield.com/apps/key-seeker Here's a quick video demo — your Win Wednesday mission is just: try it once (even for 2 minutes). Find it in the ʻUkulele Toolkit here. #Ear Training - Key Seeker 64 📊 Poll: What are you doing with it?

@James Russell it’s just evidence of me being a music nerd 😂 it really helpful to learn modes but it’s much easier to understand than remember the names. Music theory seems to have an affinity for giving crazy complicated names to simple ideas.

@James Russell well, toot away my good sir! 😂 I can give you a rundown in another video, if you’d like! Again, it’s way easier to grasp than it sounds.
Deep-dive into finding the key of a song with me
Hey everybody! I'm starting to feel like I'm on the mend 🤞 So I figured I'd dive deeper into my process of finding the key of a song using my ʻukulele AND the Key Seeker 64 game I shared with you earlier today! Check it out here in the Classroom if you want. #Ear Training Deep-Dive on Key Seeker 64 Here are the basic steps to follow: 1) Listen to the whole song. Determine if it sounds Major or minor to you. This may change. a) Select Major or minor in the game. 2) Listen again. Try to hum the bass notes you hear. Try to find the one that feels like the "home" note/chord. 3) Once you locked in on the hummed bass note, try to find it on your instrument. Use your C chromatic scale until you find the right note. 4) Select that note on the piano/keyboard in the game. a)Determine if you were right or want to change your major/minor choice from the beginning. 5) Hit "Check" and see if you're right!

@Adam Knight perfect, thanks!
Lesson progress - natural minor scales
Kāʻili taught me a new picking technique and some natural minor scales. I always feel like I'm amazing at ukulele but whenever I watch a video of myself all I see is a wannabe. 😅 I've actually practised but I'll keep practising. Feel free to give comment/ critique.

Update
Sorry I haven’t been as active the last couple days, everyone. I’ve been sick, dealing with what feels like allergies on steroids. It actually sounds like the flu that was going around my office, but without the fever. Ironically I took vacation time this whole week, starting this past Friday. I’ll be working on stuff as I can. Thanks for your patience.
