Hi all I'm going to be chairing a panel on a teams call with a charity I work with called Zonta which works for women and girls rights (https://www.linkedin.com/in/zonta-eclub-uk-a01470216/). Very informal and not huge amounts of people. We usually have a speaker for our monthly meetings - On the 23rd June they want me to chair a panel of 3 to talk about women in tech - the past, the present and the future... I don’t really have any wins this week… it’s been one of those weeks!!!! You know when you’re busy, stressed, waiting for things, running around like a headless chicken and then someone asks what’s new and your brain just goes… absolutely nothing?….. yep, that’s me this week!!! As for whines… I feel like I’ve done enough of that already this week 🤣😩🙈 So I’m handing this one straight over to you lot.…. What’s your win this week? About 30 minutes ago I got a phone call to say there’s been a cancellation and I can have my surgery tomorrow 🙈 So instead of a normal Thursday (actually, is anything I do normal?), I’m currently running around like a headless chicken trying to get everything sorted so I can be at the hospital for 6am tomorrow morning 🙈 I knew I’d said yes to short-notice cancellations….. but I definitely wasn’t expecting this short notice! I feel excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because, hopefully, this surgery will finally put an end to all the sickness and stomach issues that have been making life a bit miserable lately. Nervous because…well…it’s surgery 😩🙈 My main focus now is getting myself recovered and back to my best….. I’ve only got a few weeks before Paris and I am determined to be there, even if I have to arrive wrapped in bubble wrap 🤣🇫🇷✨❤️ The thing I’m most gutted about is that I was supposed to be meeting up with our gorgeous @Marianne Whitfield and @Susan Walsh while they’re in Liverpool today….. I’ve had to cancel so I can get myself organised and ready for tomorrow, and I could cry about that part 😭💔 Anyway, if everything goes to plan I should be around tomorrow evening to do my favourite post of the week…..our Leaderbord!!!!…… How’s everyone else doing today? I’ve been in Nice for a day en route to NYC for the ACM Professional Development board meeting on Thursday. I’ll be travelling most of the day tomorrow. I know @Cigdem Sengul and @Fawzia Zehra Kara-Isitt are connected to ACM, anyone else? Nice is such a lovely place to visit, has anyone else been here? It’s great that Leah has finished her degree now so can travel with me ❤️
