🌿 What if you never get to see the difference your change has made?
@Miranda Van Gogh shared today that she has switched to stainless steel pots and pans and wooden utensils (great work) and it got me thinking about the changes we make that don’t come with an obvious before-and-after. You make the swap, cook dinner, wash up… and life carries on. There’s no obvious outcome that you made a difference today.” It is really hard to quantify the potential health and environmental improvements that you have made from switching to stainless steel from non-stick coatings? Some changes give us something we can see: less rubbish in the bin, money saved, a cupboard that feels easier to manage. Others are harder to measure, especially when our reasons involve our long-term wellbeing or the environment. And that can make them harder to justify, particularly when they cost money, take effort or mean learning a different way of doing things. With a cookware swap, we may never know whether it has changed our individual health, short or longterm. Yes, your stainless steel pan may last a lot longer but a dramatic before-and-after isn’t the only way to judge whether a choice was worthwhile either. And perhaps we. will never get the 'proof' that is was worthwhile? What we can do is ask ourselves: Does this suit how I want to live? Is it practical for our household? Am I choosing something I can care for and use for years? Sometimes the tangible result is feeling more informed, learning a new skill or having everyday things that better reflect what matters to us. Trusting in our selves to know what is best for our, and the environments, long term well-being, rather than needing results that can be measured exactly...this is where our divine feminine comes in and we need to learn to trust her. (Also valid for our men folk, we all hold the feminine and masculine energies and archetypes within us). Have you made a change where you can’t measure the difference, but you’re still glad you made it?

Every swab I made I appreciate as a long term health improvement 🥰 We humans are so conditioned to look for instant gratification that it is a real stretch doing things that don't have an instant effect.🤷‍♀️ When it comes to non toxic living most will be invisible, maybe we will never truly see the benefit, so the motivation has to come from somewhere deep inside of us. Self-love and self compassion is in play here if you ask me❤

So here is where our family is in this journey
Thought I would share our process🥰 First it was a thought and a wish to live more clean, it was a bit overwhelming because where do you start right? 😅 But then we decided to start the carnivore diet and that meant living on very few ingredients and it naturally created a habit of not buying processed food. 🙏 This was back in March 2025 and weve been living non processed ever since. 🥳 Then we started using the app Yuka to scan products like shampoo and face creams, and that started a process of changing products for products without toxic ingredients.❤️ We also bought stainless steel pans and wooden kitchen tools 💪 We still have a way to go but step by step we create small lasting changes to live less toxic❤️❤️ and our adult kids are following our footsteps 🥰🥰

Put on your racing gear, rev up those engines and please welcome the amazing @Mikael Van gogh. So good to have you in here. I feel like you and @Miranda Van Gogh are already pretty good at a lot of these topics so I'm excited to learn from you too. There are lots of recipes and DIY courses starting to make their way to the classroom. I am creating this community and it's resources based on what the members are exploring right now, so let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to start with.
🌸 Please Welcome Mikael!

🌸 Please Welcome Miranda!
I couldn't be more excited to have you here @Miranda Van Gogh yay! You are definitely in the right place to learn more about low-tox living, that has been my thing for a long time now. This space is being created around what the members are currently exploring in their lives, so if you can't find a resource or answers to your questions in here, let me know. I have a huge library of recipes, books, and knowledge stored here at home and in my head that I can pop into this space. You also mentioned that you have removed all processed foods - this is a huge and impressive start to your journey. I think we will all be able to learn a lot from you too. I minimise the processed foods that come into my home and cook from scratch ever day, but the potato chips always seem to find their way into my supermarket trolley 🤭 Everyone, please welcome Miranda into this space.
🌸 Please Welcome Miranda!
