Is hiring a ghostwriter right for you?
Hiring a ghostwriter isn't a small decision. You're contracting a professional to enhance your reputation and make you stand out among your competition as the "professional who has the book." If you're already an established author, you understand the credibility a book brings to the table. People trust you. You're seen as an expert. They value your opinion more than another professional who offers the same services because you're now seen as an "expert." But is hiring a ghostwriter right for you? Here is a tool I developed to answer that question from a financial perspective. It's the Ghostwriter ROI tool. https://www.writeforyou.me/roi-calculator You fill out your data and answer as many questions as you can on the calculator. Then, once you hit calculate, it will show you if hiring a ghostwriter to write your book makes financial sense. If you've decided that hiring a ghostwriter to write your book doesn't make sense, but you'd like a ghostwriter to work with you, then hop on a call with me to discuss book coaching. Meeting weekly or twice a month, I keep you accountable, review your writing, answer your questions about your manuscript, publishing, and KDP - so that you can move forward and finish your book on time, without the doubt that plagues most new or returning authors. Having a book coach by your side gives you the confidence to publish your book and leverage this powerful tool in your business. Ready to start? https://cal.com/write-for-you/discovery-call

Networking at a convention
I’m headed to Girl Scout convention in July. I am not having a booth as it is thousands of dollars. I can’t ‘sell’ at convention. What are your recommendations for networking / spreading the word about my books without violating the no sell rule?

@Carley Fortune One story is in 2017, when I was talking with the youth at the convention, they said they would listen if it was on Pandora (this was before Pandora hosted podcasts). I was probably one of the first podcasts on Pandora when they started hosting podcasts. I am going to be interested to see if I can get feedback on my playbook, as the ARC readers loved it.

@Paul Cole Sales have been fairly low. I tried doing a Meta ad campaign, but it wasn't successful, so I pulled it after a week.

@John Elcik what is your number 1 tip for an author website?

@Olivia Merritt I have always planned to use the content in multiple ways. I tried writing the book for several years, but struggled to create the outline. AI helped me with this, as I was able to upload all my episodes and have it help me create themes and identify episodes that fit well into those themes.
KDP EBook rejection
I want to share the rejection I received from KDP. The book had some lines for jotting down thoughts, but it was not a journal. It is mostly text. Here is the email string (read bottom up). I’ve removed the lines and will published again without them, but I’m curious what others think about this. Hello, Thank you for your email regarding the following book(s): 66655756 : YOUTH PROJECT PLAYBOOK: A PEER-TO-PEER WORKBOOK FOR TEENS Your book cannot be supported by our Kindle devices and applications due to the interactive functionalities. If you wish to publish this book, you will need to submit it as a new book under a compatible format according to our guidelines. Note that books meant to be filled in by the user (e.g. journals, coloring books) can be published through KDP as paperback books. As a reminder, since publishing books that require resources beyond a Kindle device or Kindle application (Phone/Mac/PC) is against our guidelines, we may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly try to do so. For more details about KDP's content guidelines, visit Help: https://kdp.amazon.com/help/topic/G200672390 If you have questions or believe you've received this email in error, reply to this message. @Lynn Smargis It was a Word doc (I know you don't like using Word for formatting). I've tried using the KDP ebook converter app and haven't been successful. The ebook conversion process has been a struggle for me.
