In this video you'll see a flashback of some of the ventures I started - some have stuck and some fell by the wayside! Anything is possible - this will show you how easy it can be and it's not a failure if it doesn't work out ... I call it MARKET RESEARCH ๐Ÿ™Œ Here's the current situation ๐ŸŒŸ Shopify - didn't stick - it's waiting should I want to revisit. ๐ŸŒŸ YT Cottage Dreams Little Biz - I still have the channel but an unexpected move to the cottage changed my plan! ๐ŸŒŸ Etsy - I still have the store but the current season limits my making - I'm working on this! ๐ŸŒŸ YT StephKaraCreates is "The Little Cottage" this is my currently most creative space ๐ŸŒŸ Skool - I had no idea this time last year that I would be building a creative community here! So who know what the future holds for you.... What have space have you been dreaming about lately?

I have big dreams, but those dreams take a while to build. Spending the time to build some infrastructure doesn't always feel related but it's important. Plus the learning. Can't forget that part. Sometimes it's fun. Sometimes it slows you down. As long as you keep your dreams alive it's worth it in the end, I guess. Here is to your success building your dreams.
Feeding the the unexpected guest!
Warning - long rant - but I could do with some help here at my busy cottage! ๐Ÿ˜‰You're probably going to thInk I'm about to add a great recipe or secret to being prepared because I have the perfect little cottage life - Ahhh NOPE - I actually failed today - I got caught out big time today and probably served up the most terrible food I have in a long time! ๐Ÿฅ˜ Admittedly, I've cooked lots of great meals for the extended family a few nights this week. Some for my son and the little boys while his girl is studying in the city, and then some for my daughter and three little ones, because she broke her wrist roller-skating. I've also fed my other daughter at odd times as she pops in unexpectedly from her work at the daycare around the corner - breakfast lunch or dinner ๐Ÿ˜‚ HOWEVER, today when one of my other girls, hubby and bubba came by to sit by our outdoor fire, I had nothing that I could serve them other than some fast ready made oven baked food - needless to say it was a epic fail that the chickens will enjoy for brekky... ๐Ÿ’กThe moral of the story is BE PREPARED Why did I not listen to that little voice calling me to be prepared? This morning I grabbed the brisket from the fridge and thought to myself "I should put it on in the slow cooker - just incase someone comes," but then I thought "we're going out for lunch so maybe we won't need a big dinner...." Well I was wrong and when the kids turned up unexpectedly I had nothing ready or easy to whip up! LESSON FOR THE DAY Always be prepared for the unexpected - a homemade soup in the fridge, some pasta sauce ready to go, Whats you go to when you get unexpected guests for dinner?

I commend you for wanting to be prepared, but I have to point out something here. Take a moment to celebrate the fact that they stop by. That doesn't always happen with families, unfortunately. The food can be one reason they stop by, but most times it's an excuse if that is the reason they give.
Creative slump
Hi all! I am a therapist & transformational coach by professionโ€ฆI started diving into my creativity as a relief valve for my busy mind. I have been painting mostly (watercolors). The last couple of months I seem to be in a bit of a creative slumpโ€ฆI was wondering -if that ever happens to you guys -if it does, how do you recharge yourselves? Thank you in advance, I love this community ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŒธ

Exhaustion comes in many forms. Sometimes it is body rest. Sometimes its a different kind of internal rest that is needed. Its hard to know what that is sometimes. In the past I would think that binging tv shows or movies would help (or video games). They kept me busy and were even fun, but they weren't refilling that cup. Sometimes I had to turn to reading or consuming other people's art (like pinterest). Another way I have felt hindered is if I judged myself too harshly or was treating the process too harshly. When painting, I like to start with abstract instead of a subject because its easier to tell myself there is no "wrong" way to do this. Artist friends of mine have mentioned that if the materials are really expensive it can cause a hesitiation or block because you don't want to screw up and have to spend a lot more money to do it again. Size has also helped. If I have a large area staring back at me it can seem more daunting than just a little space. I don't know you well enough to know if you want to try another medium for a bit just to see if that sparks anything? I am throwing out a lot of ideas because sometimes its a subconscious thing and it isn't easy to figure out. Good luck. I hope you can figure it out.

Jam
As I am picking rosella to make jam I was wondering who else is also making their own jam and which fruit are they using.

When I was growing up in Montana, my family's favorite jelly was made from chokecherries. Not knowing any better, I ravenously threw one of the berries in my mouth while we were picking them, and yuck... choke cherry is right. It's like it sucks out the moisture from your mouth, too. Yet, add enough sugar, and anything tastes amazing, I guess. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I love the creative process as a fiction writer and visual artist, but my day job is spent solving complex computer problems by creating software.
