Can we charge a security deposit through AirBnB?
Hi, I received a request from Vicinity Corporate Housing for a 64 night stay through AirBnB. With the platform having an all in one cost, how do I charge the security deposit?
@Rebecca Edwards on Airbnb you can only charge a maximum of one nights stay worth. So example, if $300/night then you can charge $300/pet. If we go direct we charge $300/pet normally. If it’s a cat then whatever I’m feeling that day 😆 $500-$750.
@Rachelle Mendoza you should see my last comment on another cat question… we used to own a cat and he peed on my husband’s side of the bed ON PURPOSE! so we totally know they are characters for sure. -Dominique
Military Housing (Premium Call Question)
(Rod) Hey Everyone, There was a question on the call yesterday regarding if military bases will accept furnished retails or not. I contacted the Housing Management Specialist at RAFB here is Georgia, and she said that it depends on the base's needs. Here, Airmen that live in dorms will often stay in furnished homes until they purchase something for themselves or leave, so I'm good. Check with the Military Housing Office located close to your home and see. The process isn't as straightforward as say Airbnb, but it may be worth it. Hope this helps someone. https://www.homes.mil/homes/DispatchServlet/HomesEntry
Thanks so much for the information Rod!
Would you accept this booking?
The working all night and sleeping all day has me questioning this one. They have 5, 5 star reviews. It’s also strange to me that they didn’t line up a stat in advance of arrival day.
Would you accept this booking?
Hey! I know you declined already. I agree with Kellie though. 5, 5 star reviews is pretty good! We have hosted family crews before. Since the husbands are working the families just tag along. Maybe their last accommodations fell through? Who knows, but I definitely would ask more questions. 2weeks isn’t too crazy. I do a lot of scouting too 😆 So she told you the city I would look up any events, major projects over those time frames and see if it aligns with the story. -Dominique
6 week booking for a family who had a flood
$11,200 monthly for our CA home. I’m so sad for them but happy we were able to get them in our home quickly and they are so happy to be out of the hotel.🙌 I love that we get paid to help people! ❤️
Congrats! I know they’ll be well loved!!
Monthlong booking for our second Raleigh-Durham NC home!
We’re officially 100% booked for the next month for both our properties, using the VH formula! Now that I’ve had back-to-back wins, time to start increasing the prices, too. 🤑 The VH formula for me was was ridding myself of the nerves of setting the minimum booking to at least 14 nights and even 28 nights. The other key was changing from instant book to inquiry only on Airbnb. Oh, one more thing: shamelessly ripping off the titles and verbiage for my listings from y’all here in this AWESOME VH Community! 🥳 Sidebar note: Today’s booking wasn’t an insurance booking. She’s a Duke Hospital liver transplant patient. My first house was for somebody whose house flooded, and now somebody with a life-changing medical procedure. Wow, this is REALLY amazing to get to help in both kinds of ways!! 🥰
This is awesome Brian! We know you’ll take care of them!
