What a great way to make learning fun and educational. Sounds like you got their attention from the start for the year! Great work sir!

Exactly. Starting strong matters — those students are already leaning in.

Agreed. That scarf is doing some heavy lifting here.
Winning Students Over
today, I did two intro activities. One was a teaser of the course. Students got 12 historical events we’re going to learn about, and they had to match them with 12 images. I also did an intro activity called “what’s in the pocket.” I giving a bunch of pictures of artifacts that were in in Lincoln’s pocket the night he died The students didn’t know what the artifacts were or whose pocket they belonged to. They had to try to figure it out from the artifacts. Both lessons were a huge success, and kids really liked having something hands-on, and something that prompted critical thinking. On exit slips, these were some of the comments: "I really enjoy your personality as a teacher, and how down to earth you are. I am also enjoying all of your ideas about perspective and how important it is, especially with the watch knob thing." "Two things I liked in class were the interaction with the whole class and the enthusiasm about what we are learning. " "I liked the interactivity of the lessons and the teacher's attitude." "I really like the activities we are doing and there being purpose in the the activities." "I like all the things we've done as a class and im excited to do more." I have liked how interactive the lessons have been and that they are more thought provoking rather than just regurgitating facts." "There wasn't anything I felt like was bad about class the last few days. It's been pretty engaging, I don't feel like I'm having a hard time focusing or finding myself getting bored."

Boom. You made history something they get to solve, not just memorize. Those exit slips tell you everything, William.

That sky blue silk scarf against the navy suit is a sharp move, Banjo. It gives the whole outfit some life without turning it into a costume.
Two Suits | OOTD
Tonight I felt like taking some more recent pictures of two of my suits. One is a brown suede jacket with brown oxfords. The other is a pinstripe charcoal grey jacket with black oxfords. Would love some feedback or suggestions. Thank you so much!

Great rotation, man. The brown suede with brown oxfords has real texture; with the charcoal pinstripe, keep the black oxfords clean and let the suit do the talking.
