@Leon Raucci how heartbreaking! ๐Ÿ˜”
I love my GALS
I love my gals (Chickens), but I do find them very testing at times. I had a real challenge integrating a new flock with the old gals. It put my patience to the TEST! So much so, I am making my next video about it!

@Annemarie Cross we put a bamboo fence over the pen roof and as you saw in the tour, we have a lot of shade plants around the sides that are not wooden fence. Materials make a difference with the heat.

@Marty Ware I just saw it pop up. Iโ€™ll watch later after I do some editing.
Maybe more of a reminder to me to RESEARCH before throwing stuff around in the garden! ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
I have this hasty side, always just want to get stuff done, and learn the hard way along the wayโ€ฆ.

@Alisha Hobart it may have been heat then. My potted Costaluto isnโ€™t keen on the heat. If there was something in the soil mix sometimes the garden soil microbes etc sorts it out. Thatโ€™s what I found amending the soil for my broad beans.

@Alisha Hobart it is in a black pot and I just noticed there had been a crack in itโ€™s stem. That may explain it. I only have a couple in pots.
What are your projects in the next few weeks or months?
Hey there ๐Ÿ‘‹ I thought I would jump on & talk about my project over the next few days or weeks depending on the weather as we are SUPPOSE to get some rain this afternoon & into the weekend. I have an old BBQ area which we never use anymore so I got rid of the BBQ (it was rusting anyway) & I plan to either move the big heavy concrete table to another part of the yard or leave it there if we can't move it. I will lift up the pavers & place some compost, manure & mulch there to improve the soil & then plant my running seedlings in the area eg. Watermelon, rock melon, sweet potato etc. That will be one side of the garden completed & the next job is to fix up the citrus trees and the soil under them. Don't be shy & add your projects below ๐Ÿ‘‡

My main goal is to finish the mulching to get on top of the worst weed areas, up potting outgrown plants and get as many into the ground or sold. I would have liked it to be done by now but we have had such a lot going on. Iโ€™m unwell today and have a run of friends or family members passing which knocks you about. Pretty run down today so now focusing on my power hours when my energy is back and the cooler parts of the day.

@Sharon Miller thanks. Itโ€™s a hot day today so good day to back it off.
Cooking with snake and purple king beans
Heres a great recipe I adapted to include the beans growing at the moment. I used real chicken so its no longer vegan and increased the chicken cook time accordingly. It was served with rice, pickled cucumbers from the recipe Daizy shared and a salad with rocket, nastursium leaves and flowers, radishes and garlic chives from the garden plus 2 lonely carrots from the bottom of the fridge. It all turned out bright and delicious. The peanut sauce is the the best bit i think so apologies to anyone with a peanut allergy. https://www.pickuplimes.com/recipe/vegan-gado-gado-with-sun-dried-tomatoes-186
