Let’s play a game.
My beautiful friend @Heather Boers has taught me how wonderful games are. So we are going to dip our toe in the water so to speak with a game. Post an image. 🖼️. Any image. It can be a drawing, a wood burning, a painting, your diamond art or even a 10 second pig stick figure. The rest of us must guess if that image is YOUR creation or not your creation. 👍🏻 - to vote if you think YES 👎🏻 - to vote if you think it’s NOT their art. ___________________ ‼️ HERE IS WHAT’s IMPORTANT ‼️ ‼️‼️YOUR VOTE‼️‼️ I will choose one winner that really participated who really voted on the others images. and they get a FREE month of Premium on me! That’s access to the painting library with the complete step-by-step instructions to paint the reference image of your choice.
Let’s play a game.

@Michelle Cyr you’re welcome. I always say if you don’t want me to answer bluntly, don’t ask me the question. I tell VP’s that when they call me for info. I think being “real” is why people can’t help loving me when they hate me. I’m just so easy to love. 😂

@Thomas Richards I figured it might be some of your original work. I realize as I reread it, original might have a different meaning to an artist. I meant earlier work when I wrote original. The torn up fingernails like he worked hard with his hands OR dug around in the dirt by the looks of them, was quite expressively brutal. I wanted to suggest a manicurist. 😂

So there is this thing about emails. The law says I can’t add the email that you gave me already to my email list unless you specifically opt in. When you sign up here in skool, you are NOT opting in to my email list for my professional paintings. You are only opting in for Skool associated emails. I take this rule very seriously. No one needs email that they don’t want. So, IF you are interested in getting email about my professional paintings, exhibits and IRL classes, you can go here. Michellecyr.com If you hang out for a little bit, you will see a pop-up to opt in. There is zero pressure from me at all. This is only if it interests you. I am getting ready to send a newsletter about my IRL classes in Wisconsin for the summer and it made me think that it might interest you. Cheers!

IRL! Intriguing. Do you have anything planned for the Seattle area?
I just destroyed my painting from yesterday.
Yesterday’s demo didn’t record. Somehow I fucked up. So - I obliterated everything I painted yesterday. But, I think this is an important for you to see. I'm not perfect and no-one expects you to be either. 🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟 🫟 🫟 Paintings are not fragile little miracles 🫟 They are BUILT 🫟 adjusted 🫟 corrected 🫟 repainted 🫟 wiped off 🫟 and rebuilt again 🫟 🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟 And seriously, this will be the 3rd time I am painting it. Now I get to correct what I saw the first time that I did wrong. The important part is that we all keep going. Would this set your anxiety on overdrive????

@Michelle Cyr yep, that's why people love me so much. 😂 I'm irresistible.
Don’t make a blended smoothie on your canvas.
Smoothies - I love them but oil paints DO NOT. Oil paints like to SPOON like 2 lovers AFTER coitus. 🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟 🫟 🫟 Oil paints are funny 🫟 They like touching 🫟 But not blending 🫟 🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟 One of the biggest beginner challenges is over blending. Which is so hard because the paint is so luscious It just BEGS to be blended! Back and forth, Back and forth, back and forth lIke windshield wipers. In class yesterday, I talked a bit more about how important it is to keep the colors separated. This is a KEY element to not making mud with oil paints. The system I teach, we mix precise colors, and we lay them next to each other. Only a TINY bit of blending after the paint has set for a little bit. Check out the new lesson in the classroom HERE. Complete with subtitles and a PDF of all of the notes.

Shakin' not stirred... You all have me crying. 😂
I want to hear from you.
I want your opinion. Your unsalted honest one. For those of you who are new, here is what we have done. 1. You, the Community submitted images from YOUR photos. 2. We learned composition and color contrast. 3. The community voted. 4. We are learning to paint these, one hour each week. (There are two). 5. These are FREE if you catch them live. 6. The replays are in premium OR you can just purchase all access to a single class. 7. Our Premium members get access to the entire library. Does it feel too slow? I want to give you MORE! I want to build the library faster! 🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟🫟 I have been considering going live more often. I have considered going live for 2 hour session. I have considered doing one painting at a time instead of two. But I want to know what YOU want. What ideas do YOU have? HOW do you want to learn? I especially want to hear from our Premium members. @Kate Bullock @Janice Peterson @Shari Walker Kearney @LM Sharron @Rebecca Martin
