What's the best way to type in Japanese with an English keyboard. Can you do that?

๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ตโœจ Japan Fact Friday
This weekโ€™s fact is about one of the most memorable milestones in Japan. ๐ŸŽŒ Japan Fact Friday โ€” Seijinshiki (Coming of Age Day) Every January, young people across Japan celebrate turning 20 at Coming of Age Day, known as ๆˆไบบใฎๆ—ฅ (ใ›ใ„ใ˜ใ‚“ใฎใฒ / Seijin no Hi). It marks the moment they are officially recognised as adults. ๐ŸŽ“ The Ceremony Young adults turning 20 in the current year, attend a formal event called ๆˆไบบๅผ (ใ›ใ„ใ˜ใ‚“ใ—ใ / Seijinshiki), usually held at their local city hall. There are speeches, congratulations and a sense of stepping into a new stage of life. But for many, the ceremony is only the beginning. ๐Ÿ‘˜ The Fashion One of the most striking parts of Seijinshiki is what people wear. Women often wear furisode โ€” long-sleeved, elegant kimono with bright colours and intricate patterns. Men might choose: โ€ข traditional hakama โ€ข or modern suits Itโ€™s a rare chance to dress in full traditional style โ€” and people go all out. Hair, makeup and accessories are carefully planned, often months in advance. ๐ŸŽ‰ The After Party After the formal ceremony, the mood changes. Friends who havenโ€™t seen each other since school reunite. They go out together โ€” eating, drinking, laughing and celebrating. Itโ€™s part reunion, part celebration, and part โ€œfirst night as an adult.โ€ For many, itโ€™s the moment where: โ€ข old friendships reconnect โ€ข new adult identities begin โ€ข memories are made for life ๐Ÿง  Why This Matters Seijinshiki reflects something important in Japan: โ€ข respect for life stages โ€ข community recognition โ€ข balancing tradition and modern life A formal ceremony in the morningโ€ฆ and a lively celebration at night. ๐Ÿง  Language Lesson โ€” Becoming an Adult ๐ŸŽŒ ใ›ใ„ใ˜ใ‚“ใซใชใ‚Šใพใ—ใŸใ€‚ Seijin ni narimashita. I became an adult. ๐ŸŽŒ ใใ‚‚ใฎใ‚’ใใพใ™ใ€‚ Kimono o kimasu. I wear a kimono. ๐ŸŽŒ ใจใ‚‚ใ ใกใจใŠใ„ใ‚ใ„ใ—ใพใ™ใ€‚ Tomodachi to oiwai shimasu. I celebrate with friends. ๐Ÿซต Your Turn How do people celebrate becoming an adult in your country? Big party? Quiet celebration? Nothing at all? Answer in English or Japanese ๐Ÿ˜Š See you next Friday for another Japan Fact Friday ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ตโœจ

This is really interesting. I'm not sure that we really do anything in the UK. Some people might go for a night out when turning 18 but nothing like a formal day for becoming an adult
Welcome New Members to Japanese Language Learners!
Introduce yourself and share a pic of something Japanese you own or something Japanese that you're interested in! Feel free to explain why you want to learn Japanese or what you like about Japan. Also, feel free to post any Japanese language questions you have. I'd be glad to answer them! As for me, I love learning Judo. Have you ever tried it? And I love Japanese literature, such as Kokoro by Natsume Soseki. Have you read any Japanese novels? I also really enjoyed Cowboy Bebop when it came out! Not the live action Netflix version! To start learning, I highly recommend Your 50 First Sentences Course: https://www.skool.com/japanese/classroom/fe1c2853?md=60ee3552d26e4ffcb910a86675e10f95 Arigatou, Joe Sensei.

Hey, I use to do Jitsu at university and used a little Japanese there and recently started watching more anime and would love to be able to listen along to it. Visiting Japan is on my bucket list and I have a goal of speaking japanese 80% of the time that I'm there. I have no timeline for this so I've always failed to learn. Hoping that a community of others might help me

@Joe Bennett Everywhere properly isn't possible so I'd probably rely on good recommendations.
