What’s your Favorite Quote?
There’s one quote that helped me tremendously while I worked on healing a TBI and hiking. 🥾 I just kept saying it over and over as I hiked. It was, “Slow and steady wins the race.” It helped me accept that I’ll still make it tot he top, I just need to take my time. My body needed it and chanting that in my head helped me achieve my goal. So, that’s one of my favorites and it can be used for so much in life. Even with writing! ✍️ Writing a book isn’t about the fastest. It’s about the ones that keep continuing towards the goal of creating a published book. 📕 So, next time you feel you’re getting in your way to write, think of, “Slow and steady wins the race!” Now, I’d love to hear about what is your favorite quote and why! Let’s learn from one another and grow! 🌹

hero/villain
Hi! I recently discussed a story idea with a few friends, and one of them mentioned, that her favourite character was the evil aunt. This is how I described her: "Auntie Hypocrite (Leah’s late father’s sister). She frames herself as “concerned about propriety, family honour, your poor mother’s memory, blah blah blah,” but really she’s just jealous and wants Yaakov for herself." It took me approximately 2 minutes to write this. Wasn't even putting that much effort into it. In my online novel when the villain, the Evil Queen cam into play (there are a lot of chess metaphors in the book, the hero often refers to the heroine as 'His Queen', hence her chapter was called 'The Evil Queen steps on the board'). She was basically a cartoon villain. An evil socialite who is spreading lies and gossip. She was active in 2 chapters, had zero depth, and people LOVED her. Why? Does that mean I am better at writing villains than heroes?

@Dani Rosenblad James writing a great villain has incredible value. think Hannibal Lecter.

I lost my brother in a car crash when I was 12. I spent 4 years training in martial arts to get revenge on the killer. I took my black belt test early, it was the hardest physical challenge I faced at the time. I passed. On the way home I took a different route as if inspired. I went on auto pilot from the fatigue. My car hit a mail box. It was the mailbox of my brothers killer. It would seem God guided me to the revenge I desired.
