Bucket List---Share your Dreams :) :)
Hey Empowered Fam! :) I was just in a call with @Arthur Maddocks-Brown in his group, where we talked about creating a Bucket List and I was inspired to share this with the group! He is running a Bucket List Challenge in his group (100 goals in 5 years)!! QUESTION: What are some of the things on YOUR bucket list? I would LOVE to hear about some of these! :) Aaaaaaaand...Because this is a group about inspiring and being inspired, empowering and being empowered, and living to our fullest potential (whatever that may look like) this is a great way to support/encourage each other along the way! Some additional info about bucket list, if you'd like it! :) ------------------------------- A bucket list is an intentional inventory of experiences, goals, and growth edges you want to tend to during your life. Since we never know when our time is up, it's helpful to start now. **Think of it less like a checklist and more like a map of who you want to become.Think about the values that you hold and how the items within the bucket list serve towards those values**** Most meaningful bucket lists have a few different “buckets” inside them: 1. Experiences (the classic stuff) These are the do the thing items. The things that expand your point of reference. -Travel to places that change your perspective -Try something that scares you a little (or a lot) -Attend or participate in something you once thought was “not for people like me” 2. Growth & Becoming This is where it gets deeper--identify your values; explore past hurts; who are you becoming? These items usually feel uncomfortable to write down because they require change, not just effort. -Learn a skill you’ve always avoided -Confront a pattern you keep repeating -Develop a trait you admire in others (patience, courage, empathy, integrity) . 3. Relationship & Connection A lot of people realize late that who they shared life with mattered more than what they did. i posted a short video a while back (I'll try to find it again) about how love/relationships is what matters most to people in the end of their life. :)

Hey Guys!! I love how active this community is and in particular this thread! This Bucketlist Challenge is something that really changed my life. Not just the way I thought about life, approached my life but truly how I would wake up with a mission and purpose (no matter how big or small) The theory of the challenge: Most people live their whole lives and get to the end and go... - I wish I did this - I regret not doing this - I would have loved to do this - I never got the chance This Challenge combats this. How and why? 1. It's not about 100 dreams and goals, its about getting creative and thinking of what you really would love to do and experience in life. 2. It's not a list to do "before you die" - Its a list you have made TO TAKE ACTION 3. Set the deadline of 5 years and if you have 100 dreams and goals thats 20 per year. 4. why this works? People work to deadlines ("Before I die", gives us the illusion that we have all the time in the world) Set the deadline of 5 years and now you have to take action. 5. Taking action = living your best life, doing the things you want to do and living not just existing or drifting through life. If you are feeling stuck or feeling uninspired... maybe even lost or disconnected, or just feel like you're going through the motions.... This will change how you FUNDAMENTALLY approach life! Your call to action: 1. Write your list (100 is perfect) 20 is a start and good enough! 2. Nominate the 1 goal you want to achieve in the next 12 months 3. Do the actions required. Things that help: - Give yourself 3 days to write the bucketlist (deadlines help) - Dream like a kid! (anything is possible... even the moon landing) - Post your list in the community! = law of attraction + accountability! - Start thinking about how you will achieve the first goal) If you want help or guidance... Ask me @Arthur Maddocks-Brown or @Georgiana D

@Wesley Penner I totally agree :) That said... sometimes the most crazy dreams can come true if you have that burning desire, faith, dedication and persistence. I had a dream that I thought was impossible, and just by the most insane luck and chance... it came true.

@Flory Fuller Hi Flory! I am happy to share some of mine with you :) I was a volunteer for Letters of Hope when it was still active. We can do shorter 1 page letters, or post cards. Or you can do 6 page letters... My first letter I received (when I was struggling was 6 pages) It felt like I was having a warm conversation with the letter writer when reading it. I always start with... "hello stranger / friend, Then I just kind of flow into it... (if you are a natural writer, you will flow into a nice long letter) I know you dont know me, and I, in fact don't know you. I am writing this letter of hope for you though, because I think that even though I dont know you I feel like theres always space for love, kindness and positivity... I have (add experience) I tried these things (list things that helped) Now you might not be struggling and you might be the happiest person ever, and thats amazing if you are maybe you could pass this onto someone else as a pay it forward... but if you are struggling then keep it, and use this letter as a little reminder of love that exists in the world. Key tips: Try not to give advice, offer the warm support from a distance & encouragement Write this as if you are writing this to your younger self who once when through a really difficult time. (Think... what would I say to my younger self) "remember you are loved and you have a very special place in this world" You are uniquely you and thats what make you special because there is no one in this world like you". Stuff like this. My letter included a song recommendation, a personal story and lots of words of encouragement. I hope this helps! (Also, we should connect! I will be back in the UK this year at some point and I love connection with people that have a big heart for mental health!
📩Challenge: Letters of Hope!📩
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that. " MLK Jr. :) I wanted to share something that @Arthur Maddocks-Brown and @Maxwell Riseman are doing in their communities and that I'd like to put out here for anyone that would also be interested and inspired to do something similar!! In a world of darkness, we can be carriers of some light! :) Be the change you wish to see in the world. Arthur used to volunteer for a charity called Letters of Hope, but unfortunately they closed due to funding issues. BUT, the mission doesn't have to stop and I think that we (and others) can continue it. THE TASK, should you choose to accept it: -Write a handwritten letter of hope as if you're writing to someone you deeply care about, knowing it will be gifted to a complete stranger. -Leave the letter somewhere for someone to find, or, if you're feeling extra brave, hand the letter to a stranger. If you want to post a photo or share about your experience in writing it , please do so in the comment section below! :)
