Let’s stop dressing this up. If you’re in a room where: No one is pushing you... No one is calling you out... No one is operating at a higher level than you... You’re not in a growth environment, You're in a comfort zone with better branding. And comfort zones don’t produce elite outcomes. Stop saying OK to average! Having a Point 8 Mindset isn’t about “trying harder.” It’s about who you’re in proximity to on a daily basis. Because when you’re in the right room: 💥Your excuses don’t survive 💥Your standards get exposed 💥Your pace gets challenged You don’t have to find motivation… You get pulled forward by the standard. That’s the difference. Average rooms normalize hesitation. Point 8 rooms normalize execution. Average rooms talk about what they’re going to do. Point 8 rooms are already moving. So if you feel stuck, plateaued, or like you’re spinning... Good. That’s your signal. Not that something is wrong with you... But that you’ve outgrown your current environment. And here’s the truth most won’t say: At some point, staying in the wrong room becomes a decision. So decide. Are you going to keep adjusting your goals to fit your environment... Or finally upgrade your environment to match your goals? 👇 Where are you right now? Be honest.

The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living
A friend sent this to me The Unexamined Life Is Not Worth Living” Socrates was a famous Greek philosopher who said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” This means that people should think about their actions, choices, and beliefs instead of just going through life without reflection. Socrates believed that a good life is one where a person asks questions and tries to understand themselves better. The word “examined” means to look closely at something. So when Socrates talks about examining life, he means thinking carefully about why we do what we do. He wanted people to ask questions like: Why do I believe this? Is this the right choice? Am I becoming a better person? These questions help people learn and grow. Socrates thought that if people never think deeply about their lives, they may make bad choices without even realizing it. They may follow habits, other people, or emotions instead of thinking for themselves. For Socrates, a life without reflection would not be very meaningful. How to apply it in daily life This idea can be used in everyday life in simple ways. One way is to think about your day at the end of the night. You can ask yourself questions like: What did I do well today? What could I improve? Did I make good choices? This helps you learn from your actions. Another way is to question negative thoughts. For example, if you think, “I’m not good at anything,” you can stop and ask, “Is that really true?” Often, people believe things about themselves that are not completely true. By questioning those thoughts, you can see things more clearly. You can also use this idea when making decisions. Before choosing something, ask yourself if it is helping you become the kind of person you want to be. This can help you make better choices in school, friendships, and your future. This idea also helps in relationships. If you get into an argument, you can ask yourself, “What happened? Was I part of the problem, too? How can I handle this better next time?” Thinking this way can help you grow and improve how you treat other people.

This is a strong post, Bear and I’d take it one step further. Most people don’t avoid reflection because they disagree with it... they avoid it because it forces them to take ownership. It’s easy to say ‘I’ll think about it later.’ It’s harder to ask: Where did I show up short today? Where did I play small? Where did I win and why? That’s where the shift happens. Reflection isn’t just about avoiding bad decisions. It’s about accelerating alignment with who you say you want to become. If you’re serious about growth, this isn’t optional. This is daily work.
The Point 8 Mindset Series: A Soundtrack of Reinvention 🎧🔥
There are seasons in life when something inside you starts to stir... You begin to question the “run-of-the-mill.” You feel the tension between who you’ve been... and who you’re becoming. You sense there’s another level — but the path isn’t always obvious. For me, one band has been a constant companion through every chapter of growth, challenge, reinvention, and momentum. And that band is RUSH. So I’m doing something a little different. Over the next several posts, I’m breaking down powerful themes inspired by some of their most thought-provoking songs — and connecting them directly to what it means to operate at a Point 8 level. This isn’t about music nostalgia. It’s about these distinct 7 stages: ✅ Waking up from autopilot ✅ Taking full ownership ✅ Navigating the internal noise ✅ Building emotional strength ✅ Finding your rhythm ✅ Staying steady under pressure ✅ And stacking the small wins that change everything First, a little bit of context. As I travelled my personal journey to achieving a Point 8 Mindset, I discovered a distinct 6-Part ARC... a map, really. That map is: Awareness ➡️ Disruption ➡️ Adaptation ➡️ Alignment ➡️ Momentum ➡️ Victory As pointed as this ARC is, the truth remains that a map can show the journey but it is the moments, the lens and the emotional state along that journey that tells the story and that's where the music comes in. Each of the 7 Stages above has a theme that ties in nicely to a composition. Think of it like this: A structured ARC expressed through lived experiences Because becoming Point 8 isn’t an event. It’s a process. A standard. A way of thinking and operating. If you’ve ever felt the pull to level up... pivot... or step more boldly into who you’re meant to become, then this series is for you. 👉 Follow along 👉 Reflect as you read 👉 Share your thoughts 👉 And step into your next level Tomorrow I will start with the First Stage: Waking Up From Autopilot Until then, I'm curious: Who here even knows and/or likes RUSH? 👇 Drop it in the comments

🐕 Ever heard of Kukur Tihar?
It’s one of the most heartwarming days from the Hindu festival of Tihar, celebrated in Nepal — where dogs are honored for their loyalty, love, and role as protectors. On this day, dogs (yes, ALL dogs — pets, strays, working dogs) are: ✨ Given flower garlands ✨ Marked with a ceremonial tika ✨ Fed delicious meals ✨ Celebrated like the legends they are Honestly… it’s incredible. But it also got me thinking... We dedicate ONE day to celebrating the unconditional love, loyalty, and protection dogs give us 365 days a year? Feels a little… underwhelming. Don’t get me wrong — I’m glad they do it. It’s beautiful. It’s meaningful. And it says a lot about the culture. But maybe the real takeaway isn’t just to celebrate dogs... It’s to treat them with that same level of respect, care, and appreciation every single day. Because if you’ve ever had a dog...you know: They don’t give you their love one day a year. They give it to you EVERY day. 👇 Let’s talk about it: If dogs had a vote... what would they choose? 🐶 A single day of celebration ❤️ Or daily love, care, and appreciation What do you say @Shannon Koss @Maren Bruun Drop your vote below ⬇️
