Sibling rivalry replaced by sibling love....or has it?
📅 Daily Check-in - July 6, 2026 💭 Reflection: "Today was a long day. The boys were up early ready to go to Auckland while I quickly finished the last of the packing - the clothes that were washed after football yesterday. So I drove the boys to Auckland and back - 6 hours driving in total. They looked so grown up and smart in their uniforms. It was sad saying goodbye although I didn't show it - he's been on tournaments before but this is the first time that he's been so far away. At the end September he hits the Gold Coast in Australia! Well he would do when we find the money to pay for it - it's not cheap that's for sure! I had loads of things planned for the trip home with the youngest - things he could do with his arm in a cast but he just wanted to go home. He admitted that he was going to really miss his older brother - something that bought a tear to my eyes. Sibling rivalry has gone for the moment - it's been replaced by love. 📅 Daily Check-in - July 3, 2026 💭 Reflection: "We are finally getting some sun; it still rains a little every day, but nothing to stop you from being outside. Getting some fresh air and working on the neighbour's deck is where most of my energy is at right now. I want to finish this asap so they can enjoy it for the summer. There are two sections to this deck. Replacing/fixing the old deck and building a new section. Weather permitting, hoping to finish the old section by the end of this weekend. I only do about 2-3 hours at a time when it's nice out... hey, I'm 61... gotta protect these old bones of mine. 📅 Daily Check-in - July 5, 2026 💭 Reflection: "It was a gorgeous day, and I finally finished fixing the one section of the deck. Woohoo! It just needs painting. Now, starting from scratch and building the second part of the deck. This should be easier, as I have the control to level the base. For the first section, it was awkward to level railings on a floor that wasn't levelled. Anyways it looks fine and the neighbours like it. @Shawn Bailey Thank you, Shawn, but I do have my moments. Since cohort 3, I've been practicing all the protocols I've installed in me, and I'm noticing that things don't get to me as much as before. And the neighbours were warned that I'm far from being a contractor, so they are cool with it. 😜

It feels like too much work, getting ready and driving 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back for maybe a 10-minute consultation. I will push myself and go... I have been fighting this all morning...
