Been Busy :)
I've been a tad busy this past week. Created a couple of the trash caddies & hot pads from your tutorials along with a couple of jar openers, purse size tissue holders & skillet hot pad holders for some ladies. I also was asked to make a trash caddy for a friend's husband, so, I did him one in camo :)

Welcome to The Sewing Academy!🧵
If you're new here, introduce yourself in the comments: • Where you're from • Whether you're brand new to sewing or returning after a break • What you'd love to learn how to make Then start with the beginner lesson inside the Classroom. That’s where I walk you step-by-step through the basics and your first sewing project. I can't wait to see what you make! – Rebecca

Thank you for adding me. I live in the UK. I am a mum to six and grandmother of twelve lovely grandchildren, all growing up so fast. I love crafting and would love to refresh sewing skills.

A Little Reminder & Another Question
Don’t forget our Sewing Circle Live Chat tonight at 7pm EST. Just click the link at the top of the page to join the fun. NEXT: Look at the photo I attached. I’m curious if you see the same thing I am seeing. When you guys open The Sewing Academy community page do you see the cat hanging out up there or is that just me? If he isn’t there and you want him on your page, just type “Let there be cat” in the search bar and click enter. There will be music but you can turn it off AND you can customize your cat’s style by clicking on him. Let me know what you see.

Why Many Beginners Struggle When Learning To Sew🪡
Most people think learning to sew means jumping straight into a project; BUT that’s actually one of the biggest reasons beginners get frustrated. When you’re first learning to sew, you really need to get comfortable with a few core skills first, like: • sewing straight lines • controlling the fabric • understanding your machine • learning basic sewing terminology That’s why inside The Sewing Academy I teach beginners using paper practice sheets first, so you build confidence before moving into projects. Once those basics click, sewing suddenly becomes much easier. If you’re new to sewing, tell me in the comments: What part of sewing feels the most intimidating right now?

This is where I will start as there is nothing worse than wiggly lines.
