Dragon Boat Workshop Topics — What Floats Your Boat?
Days and times are one thing, but topics are another! Here are some of the ideas floated so far. • Developing a job description for coaches, drummers, and steers • The steer as coach — how to build competence and confidence • Creating practice plans and drills • Race strategy and prep • What does it take to be a kickass drummer? What would you add? Drop it below!

Boat drills for paddle position, exit, a d synchronization.
Homework: Race communication strategy
1️⃣ How would you approach giving commands during a race? Would you share responsibility with your drummer? What do you think would work best for you? 2️⃣ What have you observed from other steers that you would like to try or avoid? #level2

We have a drummer/Steer combination that CAN and does work well together as a pair. The drummer understands when its appropriate and beneficial to call out some commands. We have another drummer that we cannot have call anything....she is not as astute to what is going on or what is necessary and helpful. So, she just drums

New here? Welcome!!
We're so excited to have you here in Dragon Boat Skool!! Not sure how this space works, how to navigate it, or WTF is the deal with the leaderboards? Here's what to do first: 1️⃣ Click the little "Like" or 👍 button below this post. This shows us you've read it and hopefully starts getting you into a habit of liking other people's posts, so that those people then like YOUR posts. Why does that matter? Because each like you get gives you 1 point on the leaderboard. This helps you level up and will eventually unlock special bonuses and classroom offers for you. 2️⃣ Say "hey!" below. Let us know who you are and where you paddle/steer/coach/drum/order people about 🤣. 3️⃣ Click that "Classroom" button at the top of your screen. Then look for the "course" that says "Welcome to Skool." You'll get a quick orientation in there!

@Liisa Reimann making Team USA! I am really excited to listen to the summit tomorrow. I also want to learn to steer, and coach. But I feel like I need to understand technique first, then the boat - and the role each paddler has based on position, then coaching.

@Liisa Reimann The Dragon Sisters near The Villages Fl. We are on the same lake as The Heat. The Sisters are not a "high performance" paddling club. I really wanted to be at the Noon session of the Summit, but I had a commitment on the calendar (it had been there a couple months).
