On this day the Orthodox Church commemorates the consecration of the Church next to the miraculous, healing spring outside of Constantinople. The Church of the Theotokos of the Life-Giving Spring was first built by Emperor Leo the Great near Constantinople. Before becoming emperor, Leo met a blind man searching for water. After hearing a voice guiding him to a hidden spring, he gave the man water and anointed his eyes, restoring his sight. In gratitude, Leo built a church over the spring, which became known for many healings through the intercessions of the Theotokos. Later, Emperor Justinian the Great, who was also healed by the spring, rebuilt the church on a larger scale. Though it was damaged and restored over time, it was eventually destroyed after the fall of Constantinople in 1453. A small chapel remained for a time, but it too was destroyed in 1821. In 1835, the Orthodox faithful were able to rebuild it, though it was again desecrated in 1955. Today, the site has been restored once more, though it no longer reflects its former grandeur. Despite its trials, the holy spring remains a place of blessing, reminding us of the healing grace of God and the intercessions of the Theotokos. Most-holy Theotokos of the Life-giving Spring: save us! *** A life-giving fount, thou didst conceive the Dew that is transcendent in essence, O Virgin Maid, and thou hast welled for our sakes the nectar of joy eternal, which doth pour forth from thy fount with the water that springeth up unto everlasting life in unending and mighty streams; wherein, taking delight, we all cry out: Rejoice, O thou Spring of life for all men. - Apolytikion, Tone 3 From thine unfailing fount, O Maid supremely graced of God, thou dost reward me by the flow of the unending streams of thy grace that doth surpass human understanding. And since thou didst bear the Word incomprehensibly, I entreat thee to refresh me with thy grace divine, that I may cry to thee: Rejoice, O Water of salvation. - Kontakion, Tone 4

🌿 “The Source of Healing… is never the same.” 🌿 On this night, no “myrrh” flows visibly… but God’s grace flows in a mysterious way, where man lets Him in. If I were to give you just one piece of advice, as a human being, it would be this: On this night, don’t ask for much. Don’t come with long lists of wishes. Come simply… and say: “Lord, heal me where it hurts the most.” And above all… forgive. Because we ask for help in vain if we keep old wounds in our souls. The Source of Healing begins in the heart, not in the vessel. 🙏 And if you don't know how to pray, say this: "Mother of God, you who are the Source of healing, touch my soul too. Do not leave me in my pain and teach me to have faith. Amen." I tell you with all responsibility: on this night, God is never late… but comes quietly. Whoever knows how to be silent… will feel it.

🙏 Know, my dears, that it is not good to put blind trust in people, because man is changeable. Today he may be close, tomorrow he may be far. Today he promises, tomorrow he weakens. Not because everyone is bad, but because everyone carries weaknesses, fears, interests and many shortcomings. That is why let us love people, respect them, do good to them, but let us not bind our hearts without discernment. Only God remains unchanged and faithful in all times. 💙 Let us therefore learn to trust wisely. Let us be good, but not naive. Let us be open, but let us also guard our soul. Kindness does not mean receiving every wound, and love does not mean losing our peace to please everyone. Man must stand upright, with dignity, with prayer and with a pure heart. The surest support comes when we have peace within and when we place our lives in God's hands. Because if the Lord is with us, we no longer desperately seek support in all directions. And we move forward more calmly, more strengthened and more true. 📿

I am Your creature, save me! O Most Good God! Save us, sinners, for Your name's sake. Do not look at our injustices, which we commit every day, but not of our own will, not out of malice, not out of stubbornness, but look at those moments of our life when we follow only You, when tears of humility and love flow to You from our eyes, when I desire with all my soul to fly to You, like a bird in the mountains, from the sinful world - from myself, from my sins, so as not to sin anymore, so as not to anger You, my Most Good God and Most Just Judge.
