July 15th Hangout Recap: Stories, Insights & Connection Across Continents š
Our latest Practitioner Hangout brought together participants from across the globeāfrom Nigeria to Peruāfor a rich, fast-paced 30-minute exchange full of energy, insight, and inspiration. š What Inspired Us - We were deeply moved by the Inner Peace Ambassadors projectāan art-based values education program using puppetry to teach children peace and emotional literacy from a young age. This creative approach to nurturing inner development left many of us inspired and hopeful. šļø Collaboration Around Peace and Communication - A powerful thread emerged around peacebuilding and communication. We heard about World Pulse, a platform supporting women journalists through coaching and global connections, and exchanged ideas about aligning on peace-focused initiatives. The conversation highlighted a beautiful mentorship practice in schools, where teachers meet regularly with students and their familiesāan approach fostering trust, care, and early intervention. š± Whatās Coming Up We learned about two exciting IDG-aligned events: - COACT in Austria this October - The IDG Summit in MedellĆn, Colombia this August Both offer opportunities for deeper connection and shared learning. š§ Inner Development at Work - We reflected on the evolving nature of āinner development at work,ā especially how itās being embraced by and for young people. The idea of integrating IDGs into organizational and intergenerational spaces sparked thoughtful discussion. š¤ Exploring AIās Impact - AIās growing influence on society was another hot topicāraising questions about how it shapes socialization, investment, and employment. With so much to explore, we agreed to host a separate session dedicated to AI and its impact on our communities and work. š Community Care & Simplifying Complexity - Our final reflections turned to the care economy and the growing sense of social isolation. How can the IDGs help people learn to care for themselves and one another in a fragmented world? This remains an open, urgent question for us all.
