What hosting a Women's Market at my home reminded me 🤍
Yesterday, I hosted a small Women's Market at my house. For a few hours, my living room was filled with women, handmade goods, laughter, conversations, creativity, and that wonderful feeling that happens when people feel comfortable enough to simply be themselves. As I was getting ready for everyone to arrive, I realized something: I don't actually enjoy cleaning because I enjoy cleaning. I enjoy creating a space where people feel welcome. The flowers. The snacks. The tidy corners. The extra chairs. They're not really about the house. They're about connection. For years I thought a gentle life was mostly about reducing stress. Now I think it's also about creating more moments like this. More laughter.More community.More gathering around tables.More sharing the beauty we've created with one another. The house doesn't have to be perfect. The people matter more. What's your favorite kind of gathering? Coffee with a friend? A dinner party? Game night? A backyard barbecue? Something else? 🤍

this looks like so much fun. I saw something recently that said something like (i think it was worded better...) "we learned how to impress but never really learned how to welcome" My mom was a massive dinner party thrower. I can remember so clearly all the stress cleaning, flowers, ironing tablecloths, coooooking for days... They were gorgeous and I think she did alot of that because the beauty of it really did bring her joy, but if you strip it back, building the community is the important part. Making people feel welcome. Bringing people together. Congrats on your sucessful event.
What room is stressing you out most right now?
Kitchen? Bedroom? Laundry? Office? Car? Purse of doom? No judgment. What’s the current overwhelm zone?

My kids room and the room with the arts Supplies cabinet. I could just go out everything away ish (hide) but I would know all the toy sets are Co-mingled and missing pieces. Same with the art supplies. Just seeing all the markers with the missing caps and the piles of half done art that I need to make executive decisions whether to toss or save will literally break me. Cleaning the house has become an entire moral dilemma where the disorder behind the order is all consuming. 🥴🥴
