Time Kills All Deals
That's just as true for your search as it is for deal exclusivity. Every time you: - Draft a LOI from scratch - Build a new financial model - Copy & paste a new NDA is time wasted. Time that other searchers are using to speak with the seller in person and vet other deals in their pipeline. One of the best ways to build speed into your search is with pre-built templates for the documents you use the most- enabled with Claude. Tomorrow, I'm teaching the full system, every template, every workflow, built live, in the AI Mastery Bootcamp. You can sign up here. Want a head start before then? I packaged my Deal Room Starter Kit: my LOI, NDA, and IOI templates pre-wired for Claude, plus the CIM-summary prompt I use on every deal. Time kills deals. Don't let "save as pdf" kill yours.

Cold outreach - letters/postcards - what's the strategy here?
Curious how y'all would or currently do go about writing cold letters to owners. What type of postcard would or do you use? What approximate letter count? What info do you give on your background? What are some ways you make a personal connection? Bonus points for examples. What is your ask and call to action?

Handwrytten and Lob are the ones I'd recommend. Both offer MCP integrations and various templates. - Keep it short and sweet. Postcards are great because they don't need to be opened. - State directly who you are and what you want- just like cold email. - Personal connection - lean into your strengths. For instance, I always mention that I'm an Air Force veteran. - CTA is to a link or QR code to visit our scheduling page. Also include website link.

@Joe M. I think all of the above! Give them every option to reach out to you. Many owners won’t know what a QR code is😅
Instantly.ai emails
For Instantly.ai cold email outreach, how do people address email verification? Instantly has native email verification but I found MillionVerifier which is much simpler pricing and cheaper per verification. I've been verifying every email send but that becomes costly at scale and am wondering if thats the right approach or if theres a way to take calculated risk with email, verifying some but not others. @Jed Morris how do you handle email verification with instantly.ai outreach?

The best tool right now for email verification is Clay- hands down. Clay allows you to build a verification waterfall that attempts to pull the correct email from multiple sources and stops once it located the right one. It's not free, but definitely the best. And now Clay has a direct MCP integration with Anthropic so Claude can build and execute the whole thing for you. If you want to try it, here's my referral link: https://clay.com?via=75cfa0
Finally closed on a business
Sellers are paid and working capital has hit the bank. Finally closed on my first acquisition. Quite a journey to get to this phase, but excited for the next step. It's a PR (public relations) business here in Boston, 20 years old with 7 employees. I know I haven't joined a lot of the calls and be super active in the group recently, but can attribute a lot of the mindset and approach that I used throughout the search process to various people in this group, so just want to say a quick thank you!
