How did we get in this mess? How do we get out of this mess? Let’s look back at reasonable expectation that are corruptible Power - Agency (at best)power to act, authority to name animals - Vulnerable and Fearful and Controlling (at worst) Pleasure - Delight (at best) senses are given to us for a reason - Indulgence (at worst) Peace - Stability (at best) having things in order / rest - Escape (at worst) want to forget about everything Connection - Belonging (at best) feeling like you belong - codependent (at worst) smother everyone that’s around All of this is called Shalom is a Hebrew word (שָׁלוֹם) most commonly translated as "peace." However, its root meaning implies much more than just the absence of conflict; it signifies wholeness, completeness, harmony, and well-being. Power Corrupted : control : First time someone took things away against your well the. You realize you’re vulnerable and it makes you afraid and corrupts your desire. Fear will make a demand for control. Pleasure corrupted : indulgence : start to do them too much Peace corrupted : escape : want to get away Connection corrupted : codependency : smother people The seduction of empire goes from the at best to being expendable and the opposite of Shalom and becomes transactional. Thinking about where I want to be in 12 months. I want to elevate what I am currently doing. This past year for me has been one of opportunity and getting out of my comfort zone. I want to continue to do that and also keep reminding myself to be grateful and excited to see what life brings. So for the next 12 months I hope to find more ways to push myself pasted my perceived limits. Complacency kills.

About to deliver some food to the needy this morning. Never done this before but it’s a program through One Church Gahanna. Also it’s guys night tonight! Wish I could be there but they’ll have bench press competition, axe throwing and a bunch of other things if any of yall wanted to go check it out! I’ve been going for a while now… love the atmosphere there… Pastor Greg Ford is the GOAT!! I learn a lot and feel like he provides a different prospective when thinking about verses in the Bible & living through God and letting God live through us.
