I mix reading novels in paper format & reading summaries of factual books (mostly self-development) on applications like Headway & LeapAhead to decide if I want to read the whole book.

@Rachael Bermingham I subscribed first to HeadWay but finally I prefer BookSnap (which was a cheaper version of LeapAhead but exactly same text) because it's easier to do copy/paste on the telephone. However, HeadWay also runs on PC, so I'm going to compare some summaries. For the moment, I more like hoarding them for later reading.

Just to be precise: it is actually International Women's RIGHTS' Day. And the word rights is crucial and it's important to keep celebrating it because in some countries (at least in Europe eg Hungary & some others where far-right parties are becoming closer to power), women's rights (eg reproductive rights) amongst other things are being threatened after all these years of fighting (I'm Belgian, so I'm thinking of the suffragettes who began in the United Kingdom in 1903, or Simone Veil in France for no longer jailing doctors practising abortions in the 1970s). More than one century and we're still not having equal pay for equal work for instance! And that's nothing compared to countries where girls are not even allowed to go to school, may not choose their husband, etc. So, as you might guess, I'm a bit revolted that we have "only" one day per year of consciousness! We are not equal and should not be seen as such because we are all different, but some differences are under- or de-valuated and these are mostly qualities viewed as "feminine". That's what should change, we should be more valued and respected. I'd like for everyone to pay more attention to women's rights every day of the year. Utopian maybe, but I prefer to throw little pebbles in the water and see how far the ripples will go. Plus, there is strength in collective action, so little pebbles can create big mounds that can no longer be ignored. Enjoy and celebrate! 🤗🌈💖

@Rachael Bermingham Finally enjoying all the many things I hadn't time for while working, as I also was studying twice while working (computing in French and psychology & working with children/women in English).
