When to Create a Second Edition of a Previously Published Book
Thanks to @Kimberly Morris I'm reviving an old book with a new Second Edition. My first book was created entirely from Canva Art (Pre AI). Below is the Before (front cover) and After (Back Cover). I'm going to show how to do this in my community on September 7th Community Instruction Day. And it will be published that day as well with a free ebook promotion! And of course a film to go with it! That's what I do! The key KDP distinction: → New edition with a new ISBN for the print book, with the edition information clearly identified. A major overhaul for a book that has substantial changes—new illustrations, redesigned pages, rewritten text, changed interior, etc.—the clean publishing approach is generally: a Second Edition. If you're taking an existing children's book and completely rebuilding the artwork/page design while keeping the basic story, that's much closer to a genuine Second Edition than merely uploading corrected files. → Existing book/listing remains the original edition with minor changes to text and a few images or corrections is generally a First Edtion. The important question is how substantial the changes are. Simply fixing a typo or making a minor correction generally doesn't justify creating an entirely new edition. BTW, Kimberly will be announcing her NEW BOOK ANY DAY NOW. LET'S SUPPORT HER TOO!

I'd pick up the first cover though - brighter, simpler.

@Nick Nebelsky that's much better! Now I'd choose it. Personally, I'd lighten the back cover to match.
New Podcast Episode on Publishing
I just recorded an episode for a brand new podcast: Sustainable Side Hustle. It's built for people juggling a day job who want to build real income on the side, and honestly, @Vinayak Ramesh asked me one question that got a better answer out of me than interviews five times as long. The whole thing is 8 minutes. All 8 launch episodes dropped today, and they're designed to binge in one sitting. Mine's here: Launch Episode Krista  If you listen, do me a favor and leave a quick review on the podcast... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It genuinely helps a new show more than you'd think.

Other - I'm drafting supplements for my existing book - where I've decided to add a further angle and where the market's shifted. Also thinking of adapting it for different audiences, eg teenagers or even a copy with a male head on the cover - it's amazing how men think that a cover with a female head outline excludes them but we as women have learned to believe it includes us if it had a male outline on the cover!

I do but it too has been neglected while I've been looking after my health and is on the to-do list to give it some love. This is a lovely nudge to do just that! https://www.youtube.com/@themindsetdiet

@Sylvia Becker-Hill This resonates! There is so much to-do and we're constantly being presented with the next must-do channel or tool that it's easy to get distracted. So complete compassion and well done on recognising and rewiring your pattern. Good luck with your channel plan.
