I tracked my time for 7 days. Here's everything I learned.
I tracked every minute of my life for 7 days (okay maybe not that extreme lol). And let me tell you, it revealed things to me that I should have known sooner. I was inspired to do this when @Matt Rice sent a video within the Synthesizer Scaling community responding to @Luke Macaulay about time and expense tracking about two weeks back. That video was Sam Oven's YouTube video "Tired of Wasting Your Time? (Watch this)." I'll share it in this post below. I already knew how valuable time was beforehand, but I knew if I wanted to get real results in my life, it was "time" for me to start tracking that time ๐Ÿ˜… I used a simple Google Sheet tracker that was used by the legend Sam Oven's himself, in which he calls it the "80/20 Power Grid." Here are the categories based on value (according to Sam): - -$100/hr (Destruction) - $0/hr (Stagnation) - $10/hr (Maintenance) - $100/hr (Growth) - $1k/hr (Investment) - $10k/hr (Leverage) - $100k/hr (Innovation) Keep in mind, most of these aren't a direct result to make money in the short-term. These either help (or harm you) in the long-term. Let's dive in to the meat and potatoes! ___________________________________________________ -$100/hr Tasks: Destruction. These are the activities that actively drain your future. And it adds up quick if you're not careful. Examples: โ€ข Eating fast food โ€ข Drinking alcohol โ€ข Breaking promises โ€ข Hanging out with negative people โ€ข Worrying about opinions of others The biggest goal out of all of this is to spend LESS time on these activities, so you can spend MORE time on more meaningful pursuits. My personal audit: 0 hours spent on these tasks over the past week. When I was younger, I spent *many* hours worried about what other people think, spending time with negative people, and breaking promises to myself. So I'm fortunate to have made this personal transformation in my own life.

I have a Google doc with "my rules" and these are non-negotiable. I open that doc every day in the tab next to my calendar and it works wonders. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
What has been the most unusual challenge you have done? ๐Ÿค”
Yesterday @Sofiya Pierce casually mentioned she got 10,000 activities in a single day on Skool ๐Ÿคฏ My competitive brain immediately went to "Hold my coffee โ˜•" She threw down the gauntlet and challenged me to beat her record. And honestly? I couldn't say no. ๐Ÿ™ˆ Here's my (slightly unhinged) plan: - Comments everywhere ๐Ÿ’ฌ - Posts flying left and right ๐Ÿ“ - Chats with EVERYONE ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ - Being the most active person in every community I'm in - Using all those saved posts I never had time to interact with - Finally posting all those ideas stuck in my brain The date? Either this Thursday or next Thursday (still deciding which day I want to go absolutely feral ๐Ÿ˜…) WHO WANTS TO JOIN THE CHAOS? It's about seeing what happens when we push our limits and get MASSIVELY uncomfortable. Two ways to play: 1๏ธโƒฃ Join the challenge - Pick your own platform, set your own wild goal, and let's see what we're really capable of when we stop overthinking 2๏ธโƒฃ Share your story - What's the most unhinged challenge you've ever done that actually gave you crazy benefits? I want to hear about the time you went all-in and it paid off In the last few months, I've done challenge after challenge. Some worked, some didn't, but ALL of them taught me something. This one feels different though. It's going to force me to connect with SO many people and be active in communities I've been lurking in Will I hit 10K? Honestly, no clue. Will it be fun as hell and probably change everything? Absolutely. Who's ready to get a little crazy with me? ๐Ÿš€

Starting a business can be a lonely journey, but a community is the perfect antidote. Instead of playing the great online game by yourself, you can turn it into a multiplayer game. After all, everything is more fun if you do it with friends. Over the last week, I experienced this firsthand when Goose and his team stayed at my place. Goose won the Skool Games last year and is now travelling the world with his team, hosting 30+ IRL events. He is called Goose because he is just a silly goose. Check out the video below for some proof. We leveled up communities in the morning, shot ads in the evening, and played video games at night. Everything happened in a constant state of flow, where we felt our best and performed our best. The whole week was effortless and fun because we were able to support each other with our unique superpowers: - Gooseย Dunlav is the master of engagement. - Yahyaย Kazi is crushing it in the operations. - Tonyย Loew is a nomad expert planning all travels. - Vincentย Roswandowicz is capturing the best moments. - I was able to contribute my synthesizer knowledge and gamification expertise. Together, we did more than we ever could alone. Constant feedback and support made the whole greater than the sum of its parts. To dive deeper into my lessons, you can check out this post in Synthesizer. I am already excited for the next IRL event on the 16th of August in Amsterdam. What is the next time you are going to meet your people in person?
