Hey everyone - how was your summer?! We are BACK with a bang (after a well-earned break), we're going to be ramping it up a few levels in September (and beyond). To reiterate: the goal of this community is to provide a free resource that helps YOU stay up-to-date with Microsoft Fabric, make sense of the chaos/ updates/ features, ultimately to advance your career. AND, to support this goal (and you), I'm delighted to announce the following major improvements to this community for September onwards: ๐—ง๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐—จ๐—ฝ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€: We're fortunate to have two new team members join the Community Management team: - @Yael Bernstein (Community Lead) - Yael will help with all things Community! Helping you get onboarded, answering queries, and ensuring the Community continues to be a fun and valuable resource for all our members! - @Sambhav R (Tech Lead) - Sambhav knows a LOT about Fabric, and the pitfalls of implementing it in enterprise environments, he'll provide another perspective on technical queries that pop up in the community! - Will - no change here, I'll still be here, just with more support now ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐—˜๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€/ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ ๐—จ๐—ฝ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€: - 13 Sept - Fabric Monthly Updates & Catch - we've added a regular monthly live call! Copy Job can now be integrated into Data Pipelines for seamless orchestration.
Copy Job is a lightweight, guided experience in Data Factory that lets you move data from source to destination, without needing to build full pipelines. It supports both batch and incremental copy patterns and is ideal for quick ingestion tasks, onboarding scenarios, or operational data syncs. Key Advantages: Simplicity: No need to build full pipelines. Just select source, destination, and go. Incremental Copy: Supports watermark-based and CDC-based incremental loads. Flexible Write Modes: Choose between append, overwrite, or merge (using PK). High Performance: Serverless, parallelized architecture for PB-scale data movement. Connector Rich: Over 100 built-in connectors including SQL, Lakehouse, Blob, Snowflake, Salesforce, etc. Preview Reset: You can reset incremental logic per job or per tableโ€”great for troubleshooting. Monitoring: Real-time job status and logs, integrated with Fabric workspace artifacts. Check out the links to get a better understanding. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/what-is-copy-job https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-factory/copy-job-activity

Passed DP-600 Exam First Attempt!
Hello everyone, I am happy to announce I passed my DP-600 certification on the first try. This exam definitely had me worried after reading countless threads about the difficulty many of the other members had with taking it, as well as various Reddit posts. I am a true Fabric novice, but managed to pass this exam. IT CAN BE DONE! Some tips I would recommend for anyone studying or trying to take the exam: DO THE PL300 FIRST (it makes grasping some of the concepts a little easier in my opinion) Datacamp has some awesome introduction courses on there that you can not only learn with but use the Fabric UI, as well as SQL courses, PySpark, Data Architectures etc. Read through https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/courses/dp-600t00 material. I went through this material about 6 times over, plus using other links provided in the material to documentation online about various Fabric topics. As boring as it is, reading the various forms of documentation is super beneficial and essential to pass. Also, explore more of what Microsoft Learn has to offer in terms of learning paths, just filter for Fabric! The Data Mozart Video that Will posted was very useful. A special mention to Will Needham also who's work can never be truly thanked enough. You are a real hero mate. Most importantly, don't rush the process, Rome wasn't built in a day. The more you rush through the material without taking the time to truly learn it the more stressed out you will become. I work two different jobs so took around 3-4 months to study for this, ensuring I did at least an hour a day. As you revise material you will find a study method that works for you! The structure I went about learning was: Fabric Fundamentals & Concepts Data Stores Data Ingestion Methods Semantic Models Administer and Govern in Fabric Security in Fabric The real question is: Do I now torture myself with the DP-700?!
