Summer solstice drumming journey - recording available
Thanks @Angelika Erpic for joining me tonight - albeit over the phone thanks to tech issues! I really enjoyed guiding this journey to review 2025 and look forward to 2026, with a little oracle card reading thrown in for fun. You can acces the recordings (in three parts) in the Classroom at your leisure - but I recommend doing it before the end of 2025. If you feel called to share some of your experience in the comments I would love to hear it. Happy solstice! Hi Kath, Just got to listen to your drumming for 2025/26. Thanks for this. The journey through 2025 showed lots of endings, intentional and otherwise - some sad, others great. And a deepening of my understanding of myself as a result. I think a slower journey would have been of benefit as it would have given me time to really think about and recall each month more fully - but a great start to reflecting on the year that was. The 2026 intention was also a little quick, but again was a good start to the process I usually spend a lot of time over in the last week of the year. My gift from myself was a beautiful rose quartz heart and I did get a sense of overwhelming sadness during the process. A sign to me to live more through my heart space (and move out of me head where I have been for the last 60 years!) The oracle card was interesting too (card 2) healing and rejuvenation through emotional clearing - seemed to match well with my 2026 intention. Thanks Kath, a lovely and enlightening experience.
Sunday sanctuary session...Sorry, not sorry...or, How sorry are you?
Reading a meditation about how women are conditioned to apologise for their existence, and how we say sorry without even realising we are doing it. From a book called Wise and Wild that I have had for a few years. Would love to hear how you respond after listening!

I heard this meditation many years ago and took it to heart - changing my immediate impulse to apologise when not warranted or needed. I have noticed that most men do not constantly apologise for everything they say or do - including (sometimes) when a sincere apology is warranted. I have also noticed the number of (mainly) male sports stars, celebrities and politicians who 'apologise' when they have been called out publicly for things such as racism, sexism, and many other 'isms' - I get the feeling that this is often a PR whitewash and in no way constitutes a genuine apology for harm and distress caused to others.
Meditation on courage - yes I finally did it
This meditation was a bit of an experiment - I lay down and listened to the recording myself straight afterwards, which I have never done, and I made myself cry! But then I felt great. I hope you get something out of the experience, too. I'd love to hear how it goes for you. The photo below is of a time when I had to use lots of courage, becasue I wanted to get up and play guitar and sing in front of a crowd of 150 women at Wise Women Gathering, a fantastic conference I go to every year. Funnily enough I didn't even think of this example when I was doing the meditation - I was thinking about being brave enough to walk around the shops without a bra on!! 😂😂 Thanks to @Robyn Diamond for the suggestion of the theme. Thanks Kath. I finally got round to doing one of your sessions! I have contemplated for ages how I used to be brave and had more courage in my younger days. In my middle years I largely got weighed down with life, family, career and it seemed easier at times just to toe the line and get on with it. Now as I approach my wise elder years I am reigniting this courage and doing a lot more brave things deliberately and with conscious intent. Some things are harder than others. A dear friend of almost 60 years died last week and I always admired her as she was so courageous throughout her life. She always followed her heart and acted with her own integrity intact - she will continue to be my role model for living with integrity, courage and love. (Still not sure though if I would walk round the shops without a bra though!). x
New guided meditation - the beat of the drum
Listening to a drum beat is a great way to meditate, as the regular beats slow your brain waves into a meditative state without you having to do anything! Enjoy - let me know how you find it. #4 Drum meditation - Guided meditations · Mood Boost
