National Poetry Month – Day 7
Theme: Cultural Codes Some things don’t need explanation—they’re understood. Passed down through tone, tradition, habit, and history. The way we speak, move, gather, celebrate, and survive often carries meaning deeper than words. Today we explore the unspoken language of culture and the codes that shaped us. ⸻ Prompt 1 – Things Only We Understand Write a poem about a cultural experience that needs no explanation. A moment, phrase, habit, or tradition that would make perfect sense to those who share your background. ⸻ Prompt 2 – Raised on More Than Love Write a poem about what your upbringing gave you beyond affection. The lessons, expectations, survival skills, or values that still shape how you move today. ⸻ Prompt 3 – My Roots Speak Louder Than My ZIP Code Write a poem about how your heritage shows up in who you are, no matter where you are. Explore how culture travels with you.

7 Words of Written Love
The language, the spirit understands Surrender… Not the kind of surrender that loses, but the kind that lays weapons down at the feet of the King and says, “I trust You more than I trust me.” Abide… To stay when it’s easier to run, to remain when emotions say leave, to root myself in the Vine because without Him I am only branches pretending to live. Yield… To loosen my grip on control, to unclench the fist of my will, to say, “Not my way, Lord — Your way, even if it breaks me into blessing.” Speak… Holy Spirit, speak into the noise of my thoughts, speak louder than fear, speak louder than pride, speak louder than the old man I used to be. Wait… When heaven feels silent, when prayers seem parked in stillness, when time tests my faith — I will wait like a warrior at the gate, knowing my Commander is never late. Listen… Not just with ears, but with a heart trained to recognize Your whisper over the roar of the world. Come, Holy Spirit… Come into the rooms I hide, come into the wounds I mask, come into the man I am becoming, and make him look like Jesus. Because this ~ Surrender abide yield speak wait listen Come Holy Spirit this is the language My Spirit Understands........~B~

Micro Offerings Today centers contact. A small action. A moment where attention lands and stays. This offering arrives from the body first. From the place that registers pressure, warmth, drag and even resistance. From the part of you that notices before it explains. What you post may be: - a single line that surfaced while you paused - a sensation translated into words - a decision acknowledged out loud - a truth sized for this hour Share it just as it arrives. Presence counts here. Tap in. Leave your mark. #tapintuesday
