Change Their Environment
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is to change their environment! When your child is throwing a fit, screaming, hitting, whatever it is...change their environment. I will usually take them outside to check on the chickens or go on a walk. I found that this creates a mind shift and allows them to cool down. Honestly, we as parents could probably do this for ourselves as well!

My kids hated this, but I took them into the garage when they threw a tantrum or took them to the back porch. I told them they can come out or come back inside when they are back in control of themselves. didn't take long for the tantrum to end, lol

I asked for more books. I also asked for a tie for every holiday, I think it'd be cool to have a specific themed tie for each holiday. I also bought my son some Bose headphones for his birthday, and I was impressed so I asked for some for myself. The noise cancelling was fire.
