Know anything about the N2?
Our family is now committed to cycling the N2 next month. We have our basic logistics worked out. If you are familiar with the route and have any delights or cautions to share that would be wonderful. Thanks!

@António Ferreira Yup, saw that. We'll undoubtedly complain about it, but I'm sure we'll get there.

Portugal Quiz: Portugal FIRST to recognise WHO? (Monday, 28th August)
Famous for its own 'Carnation Revolution', Portugal was the first (neutral) country to recognise which other country's post-revolutionary status? (Two picture clues below, including the first documented Portuguese person to live in said, other country)

Yes, definitely the USA.
What's NOT in a Francesinha? (Learn about Portugal Quiz - 11th August, 2023)
The legendary Francesinha, most popular probably in Porto and the North, is a beast of a meal thought to be based on the French 'croque-monsieur'. Clearly the Portuguese have taken this snack to a new level, transforming a mere sandwich into a meal and a half, that might phase the biggest of appetites! But which of these ingredients does NOT feature in the national treasure's classic composition?

We're about to have a francesinha festival in Setúbal. My favorite truck says "Andar o molho desde 1978" (riding the gravy train since 1978).
Learn Portuguese SINGING?!
I have been singing in Portuguese (albeit in Brazilian Portuguese) for over 40 years, and all this time didn't have a clue what I was saying! It's dawned on me recently that this might be a great way to improve my European Portuguese - through the love of beautiful songs that have touched and moved me SO deeply, despite having no clue to their lyrical value and meaning 😂 I nearly cried a few moments ago seeing the translation of Gilberto Gil's 'Toda Menina Baiana', which has further deepened my love of this track AND boosted my vocabulary and sense of Portuguese (both European and Brazilian). With that in mind, I am building a collection that others might like to sing along to and connect with - https://www.skool.com/gmpvip/classroom/de322025?md=3733f1d576ec4c9194141edbbd77b503 There's also a Spotify playlist to ease you gently into the vibes and vocab - https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2V1kPJwMyAWiQnbNFyeu00?si=202bca287b784388 What do you think @Clive Gardiner , @Sarah Davie ? And what do you recommend @Filomena Pascoal @Cátia Lima ?

@Carl Munson The Delfins are doing a reunion concert? That would be really worth the trip north. They actually wrote "Nasce Selvagem" (among lots of other things.)

@Clive Gardiner Yup. When we went up to Caldas da Rainha to see them I expected to see oceans of Americans grateful for help with language development. It was a bunch of Portuguese folks. And us.
'Learn about Portugal' Quiz (Tuesday, 27th June, 2023)
Today's quiz takes us to Mayfair in London, and to the one-time home of the legendary Jimi Hendrix. In what's now a museum, which has immortalised Hendrix's 'experience' at the £1,000 flat, you can see an iconic Portuguese object in the preserved bedroom. What is that object?
