Daily Drip: Love and Work Post
Hey friends, if you didnāt see in an earlier post, Iām doing 365 daily motivational, inspirational, or just plain fun thoughts Iām having and will hopefully turn them into a book next year. Iāve been doing āLove Monthā posts for February, and today I wrote about love and work, so thought Iād share here. Hope you enjoy. You can follow the posts each day on my LinkedIn or our instagram. You can love your work⦠and still need boundaries with it. Passion is beautiful, until it quietly turns into pressure. A lot of us in the LGBTQ community built our careers, side hustles, art, and businesses from survival and self-expression. We werenāt just making money, we were making space for ourselves. So of course it matters. Of course you care. Of course you pour your whole heart into it. But love without limits becomes exhaustion. When everything depends on you, itās easy to start measuring your worth by productivity. The inbox never ends. The ideas never stop. The ājust one more thingā becomes midnight. Hereās the truth: Burnout doesnāt come from working hard. It comes from never feeling allowed to stop. Loving what you do should feel energizing more often than draining. That means protecting it: Close the laptop before resentment starts. Schedule rest like itās important, because it is. Create without always performing. Your job or business is part of your life, not the proof of your value. If you want to stay in love with your work, you have to give it room to miss you. Build a life your work fits inside.
