Halloween
My ambitious project for this month is 31 Halloween themed alla prima portraits/videos. After the first one, I know theres no way I can do one per day, this took two so I guess that doesnt make it alla prima either? 1 down and as many as I can possibly manage to go! I could have pushed the yellow value more but im happy enough with what I got. Nosferatu

Awesome idea and very cool first painting of your challenge! Looking forward to more!
Sketchbook Portrait
My first attempt at an oil portrait—not exactly what I hoped for, but every stroke feels like a step forward.

@Edwin Caniete thanks for the tip I’ll check it out! Do you find the Cobra paints are quite stiff out of the tube? The Winsor Newton’s I use seems more stiff than regular oils. Also curious what paper you went with.

@Edwin Caniete thanks! Good to know. Maybe I’ll try cobra next time :) I’ve been considering canvas paper too. For now I’m also just using paper (mixed media) and it’s fine for practice.

Hey y’all ! I’m happy that share with you my second round of urban plain air paintings . This time using majorly acrílics . I’ve focused on little corners/objects in order to make it manageable . any thoughts , reflections, suggestions about landscaping are welcome

Portrait Sketch referencing Figure Drawing For All It's Worth by Andrew Loomis
I drew a few portrait sketches today to get back into the flow of drawing again. I started to enjoy the drawing process when I was focusing on the plane of the faces. These portraits were reference from Andrew Loomis' book, "Figure Drawing for All It's Worth." My oil painting and figure drawing teacher recommended this book for figure drawing. I do find the words and sketches helpful and beautiful. I would like to check out his "Fun with a Pencil" book where he goes in more depth in with portraits but this part in the book will suffice for me for now. I often avoid darkening the darkest parts of the face, and I can work better with proportions, so I hope to improve on that. Open for critiques and suggestions on how I can improve, as well as any other books, references or artists I can study to improve my portrait sketches based on my level at this time. Thank you!
