June 10 Cote Method
Today I’m thinking of @Jeffrey Cote and followed his method using a tie I bought inspired by him. So my outfit is in shades of brown and blue today. I wore my Rancco sports coat with a sea island cotton shirt in light blue from Proper Cloth. The pocket square is mostly muted blue. The trousers, linen from Spier and MacKay, are in oatmeal, and different enough from the jacket to give a bit of contrast even though the whole look is relatively low contrast. Finally, the socks incorporate both tan and blue stripes to harmonize with the tie. I’ll add my brown suede derbies from JFitzpatrick and my brown fedora when I go out.

@Simon Chambers Yeah, personal life and work getting in the way a little. I'll be back. Finally ordered some suits. I'll show them off when I get them.

Inspired by Jeffrey Cote
@Jeffrey Cote posted his awesome staging room with ties and pocket squares. Up until joining this community I probably only wore a tie about 4x per year. Tired of them falling all over me since I tried to fire back up using them, I am trying to reclaim some space (except for the wool ones I hang the rest in a red cloth container). So I took a lunch break WFH to lay them out. In my quest to continue my closet thrifting plan-Here is my inventory some of which go back over 40years First 8 on the left are wool Challis; next 5 are ancient Madder Silk. The rest are all silk. I figured I had just over 60 regular ties. About a dozen bow ties and the dozen at the top left I grabbed from my son’s closet. These are old Polo Ties I gave him. But he rarely wears so I may or may not snatch back one or two when I can. 😎 Any suggestion on how to create a better area for using them. I don’t have a Jeffrey Cote Batcave?

@Simon Chambers Mmm, I agree. And the chances that someone will click on my profile and search back to my previous posts is very slim. Thank you Simon. You are very kind. 🙂☕

@Justin Bailey Awe! Thank you Justin! 😃☕ That made my day!
Ice-Linen Suit
Summer strikes again! 100% linen suit by Bytom - nice fabric. Cotton Charles Tyrwhitt shirt. Silk tie by Profuomo Silk pocket square - no name Two-tone Cheaney Newport Outfit with some obvious minor failings. Collar is too narrow - should be under jacket. Poor tie's knot - Windsor or Half-Winsdor would be better. This tie is not best for 4inhand. Shoes are creasing quite badly, but can do nothing about it. That said I still quite enjoy it. As always, I'm interested about your thoughts gentlemen. Have a great day!

@Justin Bailey Hmmm that is interesting. It is true, everyone is built differently. I think the "cover your butt" rule is the best one to go by. I think it would really bother me if my coat only covered half my butt. 😆

@Mike Miernik Yes, definitely. That suit looks great on you! To me, the biggest thing to look out for is shoulder seam location. And your suit shoulders look perfect. When I would go suit shopping, I always thought that the difference between say a 48R and a 48L was just the sleeve length. It took me a while to realize it also had to do with coat length and front button height placement.
