Partnerwork Combinations Recap
Hi @Jeremy Tang! I'm really enjoying the partnerwork classes with Emilia! One suggestion that I think would make them even more helpful would be to have a recap video, bringing together all the individual moves taught in that module into one flowing partnerwork combination. I loved how this was done in the Beginners course, where the recap helped us see how everything connected in practice. It would be great to have something similar for partnerwork, so we can better understand how to link the movements and incorporate them naturally into our dancing. Keep up the amazing work!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I’ll get that done as soon as I can 🙏🏽 It’s going to be difficult because I just left Europe but I’ll be back in February :)
Feedback on Basics
Hi @Jeremy Tang , I´ve been practicing a lot my dominican basics lately, but still feel something is missing. On the tap I am not always able to do the hip, I really need to focus on it. And when I start trying to add some combinations or some shoulder/arm movements or styling I feel like I disconnect a bit and my basic gets rougher. My goal in this phase is to get aesthetically better in my dance, I feel I can do the craziest combos, lead them very well, but the movements don´t see clean or pretty enough. That´s why I´m focusing on basics. Here are some videos from my practice yesterday. I´d really appreciate your feedback and any tip is welcome :D

Bro, it looks pretty good man!!! Good job! For traditional you just need to take smaller steps and it’s going to look considerably better. Try not to swing your arms too much, keep your arms close to your waist and try to move just your shoulders, start by doing them small first. When you do the diagonal / Madrid step don’t forget the contra hips, you’re rolling them abit too much try to be very clear on the hips and take your time so that it goes opposite instead of making like a little swivel / rotation

@Alexa Sa yes almost weekly :)
[Question] How do you approach musicality when you don’t know the song?
Hey Jeremy! I’d love to hear how you approach dancing to a song you’ve never heard before. Do you enjoy it, and how do you find ways to play with the music? When I don’t know a song, I often feel like I’m just repeating familiar figures rather than really connecting with what I hear. I find it harder to enjoy the dance because I don’t know what’s coming. Do you listen for clues to predict accents etc? Or do you focus on reacting to whatever is happening in the moment? I’d really appreciate hearing what goes through your mind and how you’ve learned to feel comfortable with unfamiliar music:) P.S. I’d love to hear from anyone else too!

Basic step
Hi Jeremy! I've been sick this week and watching many, many videos to pass the time 😅 which has been amazing! There's so much great info on here. I have a question about Kornel & Catharine's basic step lesson. They mention it's their interpretation of the bachata basic & everything, but I'm curious about where their methodology sort of falls on the basic spectrum? I've been trying to learn more about different styles of basic, i.e., sensual vs traditional vs moderna & am just wondering what theirs is most similar to. Also trying to develop the style of mine & wondering what elements I want to incorporate. There's a lot of info out there so it's been a bit tricky to figure out!

For Kornel and Catherine their basic step is from traditional bachata / Dominican bachata :) Even within Dominican Republic there are a few ways to explain to basic but they way they teach and me and Adriana teach it is almost the same :)
