Red Letter Iron Day 59 — Come to Me for Rest
Red Letter Quote #1 (ASV) — Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Brother, you’re carrying too much. And some of what you’re carrying was never yours to carry. You’re carrying the weight of being the provider, the fixer, the strong one. You’re carrying family expectations. You’re carrying regret. You’re carrying a secret sin. You’re carrying pressure you don’t talk about. And it’s crushing you—quietly. So I said: come unto Me. Not “clean yourself up first.” Not “figure it out alone.” Come. Rest is not you escaping reality. Rest is you returning to order—your soul back under the Father. The world offers fake rest: numbing, scrolling, drinking, porn, shopping, constant entertainment. But you wake up emptier. My rest is different. My rest quiets the inside. My rest strengthens you for the fight. My rest restores what pressure steals. And I’m not asking you to stop working. I’m asking you to stop striving. Striving is when you’re trying to prove you’re enough. Trying to earn love. Trying to outrun fear. Trying to control everything so you don’t get hurt. Brother, you don’t need to prove yourself to Me. You belong. So come to Me—daily. Bring the heaviness. Bring the anxiety. Bring the shame. Bring the exhaustion. Bring the temptation. Then receive rest. And after you receive it, start living different: Sleep like a man who trusts God. Say no to what drains you. Stop overcommitting. Stop pretending you’re fine. Get around brothers. Carry weight with help. Because rest isn’t weakness. Rest is wisdom. Come to Me. I will give you rest. Red Letter Quote #2 (KJV) — John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you…”
