VOCALS:
Use Subtle Parallel Compression for Energy and Consistency
Duplicate your vocal track and apply heavy compression (a fast attack and release, with 8:1 or higher ratio) to the duplicate. Blend this heavily compressed version with the original vocal track at a low level.
This keeps the dynamics of the original performance intact while adding consistent energy and presence to the vocals, making them stand out in the mix without sounding over-compressed.
